putting emulator on psp and upating psp firmware

Post by Bloodandbourbon »

Ok so I bought a psp 2001 off criagslist. And it had emulators on it.... I bought a game and it wants me to update the system from 4.01 to 5 ..... if I do this will it block me from playing with the emulator ? I even added a bunch. I checked the battery and its not the modded ones.

Don't update your firmware, or your emulators will not work anymore.

Easiest way to get around it is to update to a newer CFW (custom firmware)

Tons of info and links for that here:

Hey - I had a similar problem with Soul Calibur Broken Destiny. My PSP is custom firmwared as well, and while I could play UMD games like Tekken, Wipeout, Siphon Filter, etc. Soul Calibur required an update.

I had to do a lot of digging around to discover I had three choices:

1. Rip the UMD and patch it on my PC.
2. Download a cracked version.
3. Update my custom firmware to an even newer version.

The info isn't hard to find through google, it's just kind of time consuming. Good luck.

From what I know, no. I using the latest CFW, and when I play a game I bought on PSN (Persona 3 portable), it boots, and returns to the XMB with a error code. No forced updates, just errors :P

If it's already custom firmwared you don't need a pandora battery to update it.

There's a lot of tutorials on the net. I suggest you look on google.

Good luck
