Re: Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
cool man. I'm really enjoying yr blog as it's starting to pick up. Here's a surprise -- I haven't played RE4! I love the GCN port of the first. I should really get 4 eh?
Re: Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
Thanks, I am trying to pick up the pace, I have struggled to find time but am now starting to get content out, and better content I feel.
RE4 to me is the best in the series and the Wii version is the best version of it.

The Gamecube and Wii versions are the same other than the extra content from the PS2 version being present in the Wii version a well as the lack of motion controls.noiseredux wrote:I don't have a Wii. BUt the GCN version sounds great huh?

Re: Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
I'm not into motion controls, so sounds like the GCN port is my guy.
Re: Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
Generally I prefer analog sticks over motion control, but it works well for the game as it uses a tank style aiming (you stand still while you turn on the spot to shoot) so it is much faster and more accurate using the wiimote.
However it is still a kick ass game, I highly suggest picking up the GC copy!

I got really used to using the GCN controller for RE1. I preferred it over the PS1 controller actually. So yeah. I'll keep my eyes peeled for RE4. You think I should skip over 2 and 3 and jump straight to 4? As much as I loved 1, I never got any of the sequels.emwearz wrote:Generally I prefer analog sticks over motion control, but it works well for the game as it uses a tank style aiming (you stand still while you turn on the spot to shoot) so it is much faster and more accurate using the wiimote.

I feel the gameplay mechanics of the first three have not aged that well, I much prefer the gameplay style of 4 and 5, but its a personal thing really. 2 and 3 both are good games (as is Zero and Code Veronica), to get the plot better I prefer Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles but that's just me.
If you can get them on the cheap on the Gamecube I would pick them up and give them a play, it depends how much you like the original formula.
