I have been watching a lot of the Masters of Horror Season 1 Episodes

a quick recap of what I have seen

Incident on and off Mountain Road-- it was ok, DonCoscarelli has never really been a favorite of mine, but the story was cool and the kills were ok

Demons in the Witch House- Stuart Gordon, I might have a slight bias, but this movie was great, if im not mistaken based off of another Lovecraft story, but sweet kills, and if i can remember correctly, a baby death??? Whaaaaaa

Dance of the Dead- Tobe Hooper of Texas Chainsaw fame, really cool story of a post apocalyptic story about dancing zombies, cool stuff, with a hot leading lady

Jenifer- Dario Argento, one of my favorites, not his best work, but a cool story about a guy who is just trying to help someone out, and ends up getting fucked over, one must feel kind of weird to see Jenifer and think she is somewhat of a butterface, ha

Chocolate- MIck Garris, creator of the show, an interesting story of a mans sexual fantasy (reality) ending up destroying his relationship with the woman (not really horror though) except the gore

Homecoming- Joe Dante's story that at the time was a very political statement about the Bush administrations approach to the War on Terror (and war in general) - Zombie soldiers that don't kill people--kinda lame

***EDIT

I forgot one of my favorites thus far

DEER WOMAN- a hilarious movie about exactly that, a deer woman- she seduces men and kills them, the cops can't figure out how the men are dying, but let me tell you something, watching that deerwoman run down the street- amazing

and

Cigarette Burns- the amazing John Carpenter wows me again, with a cool movie about one mans search for the rarest movie in the world, so disturbing that those who watch it kill themselves and each other, some great kills, overall, my 2nd fave so far, next to Deer Woman

Saw Predators last night.

First things first, this is really built for fans of the first film. There are lots of homages to specific scenes, much of the music is taken directly from it, and they reference the plot of the first at one point. Visually I have to criticize some of the effects for too much CG. Something about it seems off, as if they just didn't have the money for top-of-the-line stuff, so it detracts a little.

I loved the characters, particularly because you default to the humans being the good guys, even though the humans are all monsters in their own right(they point this out in the film): a mercenary, a Spetsnaz, an IDF sniper, a Yakuza, a death-row inmate, a Los Zetas enforcer, a RUF death squad officer, and a doctor. And then there's Laurence Fishburne's character, a crazy Air Cav who's survived for too long. And Fishburne pulls off the insanity very well.

While the film's not terribly suspenseful, it is a lot of fun. Seeing as these guys aren't exactly nice folks, they're willing to sacrifice each other and sometimes themselves to bring down the enemy, making for some entertaining scenes. I had a lot of fun watching the film, which may not be what Predator was about, but it was certainly entertaining.

From Paris with Love: Exceedingly sub-par. I pretty much just picked this movie because Luc Besson had a writing credit. During the opening credits, I was slightly dismayed that his writing credit was really just a "story by" credit, but I held out hope. I gave up hope about ten minutes later when John Travolta's character was finally introduced. The film is a buddy-cop action flick, except that the protagonists are intelligence operatives instead of cops. Travolta's supposed to be the "loose cannon," but his character is just embarrassing. The man is in his mid fifties, and he's introduced in a scene where he's pitching a fit at a customs official over the energy drinks. It doesn't get any better. The plot twists are exactly what you'd expect (at least, for the coherent portions of the plot), and the whole thing just tries way too hard to be hip. It's just not entertaining.

Legion: I think this one might have been hurt due to the fact that it's pretty sacrilegious. The idea is pretty cool, but the biblical story mostly just boils down to a zombie-like horror/action film with a group of people bunkered in an old truck stop. I'll admit that there were a couple of cheesy moments toward the end, but overall I really enjoyed this one. Not everything about it makes sense, but the movie built up enough good will that I was happy to let that stuff slide.

Watched "Despicable Me" with my fiance last night. 5/5 in my book, but I'm a sucker for 3D movies like Wall-E, Bolt, etc.

I hated Despicable Me, there were so many things wrong with the movie (im not going to touch on all of them), the only thing I liked about it was the animation. Other than that, trash-- the movie revolved around jokes that his minions did, which had nothing to do with the plot of the movie, they instead should have been used as a short film accompanying the movie, similar to what pixar does. Not only that, but any part that might have made me chuckle was in the trailer for the movie. Trite cliched sentimental bullshit you would find littering a hallmark store, no originality-- I can not understand the praise overall, D in my book

Most 3D movies catering to kids and their silly parents are crap. Fact.

- Spirited Away
- Forrest Gump

I watched both of these on my CFW PSP.

- Toy Story 3, 3D and 2D versions

I liked the 2D one better.
