Hey everybody,
I just picked up a nes complete for 11.00. Now I loved the nes and it is a part of my childhood and I would like to keep the thing but here is my problem. I have a gba sp module#101 with the backlit screen and I have been buying nes ports for that system but now that I have a nes, should i just keep the nes and start getting games for that system or just keep getting the gameboy ports? See I have been very tight on money like everyone else in this world and I cant afford to buy for both especially since I'm trying to keep buying games for my dreamcast. I also want to know are gb and gbc games are the same graphics as the nes? If it is, then are the gb games better than the nes vresions? Thanks for reading this much appreciated

Re: nes or gameboy?
won't the NES cartridges be cheaper than their GBA counterparts?
the gameboy versions most of the time are totally different games. So Super Mario Land 2 isn't the same game with any of the NES mario games.

Re: nes or gameboy?
it's preference buddy. GBC came closest to NES graphics. So Super Mario Deluxe is a good port. And the GBA NES Classics version is better. But it's up to you if there's enough NES-exclusives you need. Some of us are perfectly happy with GB/GBA games.
Re: nes or gameboy?
I would just get whatever verision you find cheapest. Getting games locally takes a lot of luck but pays off.
Re: nes or gameboy?
I just keep a wanted list of all things I want and buy when there's a deal sometimes you will find nes or gameboy cheap and you might regret later on not buying.
Thanks everyone...

In instances where there is a battery involved for the NES original, go with the port if it's available. Unless you're down with playing through The Legend of Zelda in one sitting, that is.
Other than that, the NES originals are definitely worth getting.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I keep my carts but to play I use the VC. I have too many versions of the original zelda LOL.Flake wrote:In instances where there is a battery involved for the NES original, go with the port if it's available. Unless you're down with playing through The Legend of Zelda in one sitting, that is.

I for one have only had one instance where a Save battery was bad, and it was in my Virtual Boy Wario Land cart. My Original LoZ's save is still good.Flake wrote:In instances where there is a battery involved for the NES original, go with the port if it's available. I think this year alone my Legend of Zelda, Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Supermario Land 3: Wario Land, and Metroid II all bit the dust.Michaelthurston wrote:I for one have only had one instance where a Save battery was bad, and it was in my Virtual Boy Wario Land cart. It's been rough.
