Adding Icons To Videos In XMB
I just installed a 500 GB hard drive in my PS3, and I'm going to start copying videos to its hard drive soon. However, I know the the PS3 and PSP's XMB does not automatically create icons for video files, so I was wondering how to manually create icons. I heard you can even create short video icons. I know that on the PSP, creating image files with the same file name as the video file will make it into that video's icon. But that doesn't work on the PS3. So how do I make and assign icons to video files on the PS3?

1. Download the movie or add it to your
hard drive or play if from a memory stick/usb
drive
2. Play the clip and while the clip is playing, hit
the Triangle button. This will bring up the menu/options screen.
3. On the top row of icons, 3rd from the left is a
Change Icon option. Select it and hit the X button.
4. This will let you create a video thumbnail of
the video/clip from the video/clip itself.
5. Just pause the clip/video at a point where
you want the thumbnail to be created from. It
will make a 15 second animated thumbnail.
6. Go back to your Videos menu and check out

Re: Adding Icons To Videos In XMB
Thanks, man! I'll be sure to try it out. I didn't think it would be that easy; I thought I would have to fumble around different types of software for hours, trying to find a solution that works, only to give up, and some time later come across a solution by random chance. That's how I normally solve computer problems.
