So you installed CHDK then :D I've read that you can do a lot with that, as you have already said.

Thats a nice photo but I keep getting drawn to the plug hole rather than the splashing water.
Have you taken any landscape shots? I'd love to see them.

Heres an image I took with my panasonic fz28. not that great an image, maybe you could do better!

How about garden birds? you may be able to get close enough with that 100mm effective focal length at the long end of that camera, if you sneak up on them! :P

Edit: also you should be able to shoot in RAW with CHDK installed, I would recommend trying it if you haven't already.

Yeah I installed the CHDK. It's absolutely brilliant for people who don't want to shell out for the DSLR. Especially when they first start.

That's a very nice sunset! Where was that taken? I plan on going out later today and getting some images of the city and maybe a sunset if it's not overcast.

As for shooting in RAW. I am, I would never go back... So many more options.

xD, easy mistake hehe, I used to always get fstops backwards!

@jeffro11, I don't have a clue where I was, I just asked my bro to drive me somewhere nice but close to home to photograph, and thats the result.

I've never had a canon point and shoot before so never been able to experience CHDK, I've always favored panasonic for my normal cameras, usually for the image quality and zoom range, but also now a lot of them shoot raw :D, the difference between the jpeg and raw with my panasonic is astounding.
But it's no match for my 40D

Good to hear you are shooting RAW! all of that extra headroom to work, and no more letting the cameras processor demosaic the images poorly :D

Have you shot any insects in macro mode yet? point and shoot's seem to have an amazing macro range on them, I'd love a macro lens for my 40D, but I have to make for with a macro-function instead :( not as close.

Heres a couple macros I have taken.

Bringing back a topic from 2010 instead of making a new one. I know we have other hobby and pro photographers here.

Since we last talked about photography on this site:
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 15&t=22943
My gear has changed quite a bit.

I have a GH1 and GH2 that I use fairly extensively. Both are hacked for video, but still work well for stills. My kit is composed of a lot of legacy glass, which is fine since I have used some of it since I got my Olympus OM1 in 1995 and they can have interesting bokehs. Right now my primary setup is:
Bodies:
GH1
GH2

Modern Glass:
Primes:
Voitlander 25mm F.95

Zooms:
Panasonic 14-42mm F3.5-5.6
Panasonic 45-200mm F4-5.6

Legacy Glass
Primes:
Olympus OM 50mm F1.4
Olympus OM 50mm F1.8
Olympus OM 16mm F3.5 Fisheye
Olympus OM 85mm F2
Olympus OM 400mm F6.3

Zooms:
Olympus OM 35–70mm F4
Olympus OM 70–210mm F4.5-5.6
Olympus OM 25-85mm F3.5-5.6

Extra:
Olympus OM Bellows
Olympus OM Bellows hardmounted 135mm F3.5

To buy:
Rokinon 7.5mm F3.5 Fisheye
C mount to M4/3 adapter
Nikon F to M4/3 metabones adapter
Nikon G to M4/3 metabones adapter

While I dont have a great portfolio out there, here are some examples:
