Any love for Alex Kidd?

Post by hashiriya1 »

I love the Alex Kidd games on the Master System. It seems I may be part of a very small minority of Alex Kidd lovers. Miracle World, Lost Stars, and Shinobi World were all equally great, IMO. They had their flaws, but I just ignored them. Although I enjoyed High-Tech world, I don't count it as an Alex Kidd game since it was game with modified sprites for a US release, (like Mario 2 for NES) and not originally an Alex Kidd game.

Anyway, anybody else enjoy these games or do I just have bad taste?

Play a real game man, Like Sonic.

:P Just Kidding.

I have played some Alex Kidd on an emulator, and I enjoyed it. Not something I would come back to, but it was good.

I've played a few Alex Kidd titles and was wondering what attracted people to the games. I'm trying to love Alex Kidd but it's hard.

I've tried getting into Miracle World but the controls make it difficult. I can't get used to Alex Kidd accelerating like fucking Super Sonic.

Alex Kidd in miracle world was a game that I played all the time because it was built in to my Master system 2. I loved that game. I still fondly remember the sound of the fire punch thing and the ting ting ting sound of the red jewels as you smashed through em the motor bike. Good times. Haven't really played much of the others though.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I absolutely love miracle world (enough that I calim its a better platformer than the original mario bros - yeah, I went there), but havent played any of the others except enchanted castle, which was absolutely horrible.

I was under the impression the shinobi world was also not originally an Alex Kidd game, but maybe I'm wrong.

As for wanting to play more, I'm tempted by shinobi world, but the others dont appeal. Lost stars looks like the best of the rest, and it looks a bit rubbish to be honest.

Haven't played any of them. I want to get miracle world and shinobi world though. Was the genesis game any good?

I've been trying to hunt down a copy of Miracle World myself. I used to occasionally play Enchanted Castle several years ago when I had my first Genesis. Pretty nice platformers.

Sega should make a new Alex Kidd game. Can't possibly turn out worse than what Sonic has become.

I used to love Alex Kidd, but it's been years since I played it. It has a lot of nostalgia, though. The SMS was huge around here.
