Re: Borderlands PC multiplayer meetups + Gamespy IDs
I may be on tonight, but on tomorrow eve (at least before and after the LeBron press conference) for sure!
And I have all the bugs worked out with the mic and my game.
BTW Hobie, those tips you put in the first post were clutch. They improve the game ten-fold in my opinion. Thanks.

Niode had originally brought up the lack of a vsync option in game. I had noticed the tearing on occasion but after he mentioned it I went looking and found that thread. I think it was Simplehumar that mentioned he had tried the mouse smoothing option. I gave it a go and it did make the game feel much better to me too.SpaceBooger wrote:BTW Hobie, those tips you put in the first post were clutch. They improve the game ten-fold in my opinion. Thanks.

I'd have to agree. Hobie played the role of mom last night and suggested I go to bed...it was late. Hey now, just watching out for you guys. Easy to lose track of time. I stay up too late all the damn time and it bites me in the ass if I have to work the next day. I got sucked into Dr Ned Friday night and played until after the sun came back up. I nearly finished the whole thing in one straight run.sevin0seven wrote:he does that to you too!s1mplehumar wrote: I'd have to agree. All in good fun. Sometimes I need a friendly push.Hobie-wan wrote:Hey now, just watching out for you guys. Easy to lose track of time. Have to say I got pretty addicted to this game too. I'm usually not the best when it comes to first-person shooters (which is why I didn't want to join you guys' meetups; I thought I would be ashamed), but I'm getting much better.
It helps that the game rewards me for every little thing I do. Ran over a few enemies in a row? Here, take a ton of EXP. Killed enemies with all kinds of weapons? Here, take more. Trying hard to hit the enemies critical points? Well, more experience it is.
It just feels good to have these things, specially for neophytes in the genre like me (to be sure, I was once addicted to Counter Strike, but I never got terribly good at it, and it was the only FPS I ever got into).

Re: Borderlands PC multiplayer meetups + Gamespy IDs
Played with Sevin and SpaceBooger this evening, good times. We cleaned up pretty good for a team of 3. Apparently Hobie's in a perpetual coma as a result of too many late night Borderlands sessions.
Also, pretty sure I worked out the kinks with my archaic mic. Damaged ears rejoice.
