I popped this into my CDX for the first time yesterday.

What a great game, I had heard people really loving it but I had never played it. I gotta beat it now! Do you guys ever have the issue where you just end up aimlessly swimming around for a while not knowing where to go, or am I just stupid :[?

I just had a long, long playing session with the game and I'm now in Trilobite Circle (stage 24 I think). At one point, I was stuck in the stage called Deep Gate. Unfortunately, I had to consult a walkthrough for a hint on how to use a new object.

There were some other stages where I had to perform some very difficult jumps. In one instance, I made the jump on like my 40th try. Then, almost immmediately, there's a second jump. So while swimming around to make that second jump, I accidentally shot myself in the wrong direction and fell back down to the base of the first jump. :x

Despite the bouts of fustration, I'm really enjoying them game. I had a nice rest when I got to the Library and watched the two FMV movies. It looks like they were clips from a documentary lifted from the Discovery Channel or something, but much, much, more grainy.

City of Forever, I presume. Yeah, those jumps are insane; they're about as close as you can get to being impossible without actually being impossible. There's actually a route that skips them, but once you know about it, chances are that you already passed it the hard way.

Haha, if thats the jumps i'm thinking of, theres an invisible tunnel with an upwards current that makes that whole section a LOT easier XD. it took me a while to find it too.

Thanks. After I beat a hard stage like that one, I sometimes go and read about the stage to see if I missed something, and that's how I found out about the shortcut. Life can be cruel.

Of course, it was a very long stage and I wasn't really in exploration mode. I kept thinking I'm going to run out of air, so I was essentially dashing though the stage as fast as I could.

agreed. The music kind of makes me nervous. Like in the original Metroid. Or Nightmare On Elm Street.
