Here's what the producer of the game had to say regarding the "No" 360 version:
Producer Hiromichi Tanaka has said that Final Fantasy XIV won't be appearing on the Xbox 360, citing problems with the "closed" nature of Xbox Live.
"[Live is] different to the normal internet environment, so when we wanted to introduce this game in the same environment as Windows PC it had to be PS3, so that was our choice," Tanaka said. "Microsoft has a different point of view: they want to have a closed environment for Xbox Live. We're still talking to... We couldn't come to an agreement on Xbox Live."
Final Fantasy XIV will be available on the PC by September 2010 and on the PS3 by March of next year.
I was at the prime age (early 20's, in college/low stress job) for FFXI when it came out, but I couldn't get around playing an online game on the PS2 for some reason. Now that consoles have come a long way and the platform is more accessible to online play/MMO's, I have too much in RL to take care of then play an MMO. That being said, I am looking forward to The Old Republic by Bioware for some strange reason.
Too bad as it looks like they have improved on all the "mistakes" made in FFXI from what I've seen.

I'm looking forward to Final Fantasy XIV with the changes that have been made since Final Fantasy XI. I need to decide whether to wait for PS3 version or PC. Any other racketboy members going to be playing it?
