introduction!
Hi, I'm a pretty big gamer I guess. I got a lot old school systems and Games. My main interests are in PS1 and 2, Dreamcast, and SNES. I mostly enjoy RPGs and SRPG's but I will at least try and play just about anything (love weird dreamcast games!). Anyway, this is a really awesome site with cool features so I thought I would like to join.
Age: 22
Game platforms: Atari 2600, Sega Saturn, PC.
Oddball thing: My fathers Atari Star Wars arcade machine is currently in my room.
I have been playing games for a large part of my life starting on the Apple IIe and Atari 2600. I never owned a console other then the Atari until I picked up the Saturn about a month ago, but I have played on all the big ones. I'm one of the people who got a mod chip from Racketboy in the 48 hrs he had them this last time around.
I picked up my Saturn because I will hopefully be moving out soon and wanted something that I can play "quick" games on and wasn't going to cause me to close my bank account.

Hello all. I just found this site though a google search looking for Sega Saturn mod chips. Luckily I found you! I've been gaming all my life, and bought a real Saturn a few years back, just for NiGHTS. I got it cheap, but some of the other games I want aren't, like Panzer Dragoon Saga. I've tried emulators, but they don't do the games justice.
Anyway, it seems like a nice community here so I think I'll stick around!

so....
I'm a songwriter and musician who is really a diehard old school gamer trapped in the body of an office worker. I'm a strict vegetarian, nearly vegan. I take photos and like to print using 19th Century printing methods such as cyanotype and vandyke. I believe Scrabble is the best board game on earth. Although the Super NES is my all time favorite system, I am extemely fond of PS1 and Saturn RPG's. Also, I'm addicted to shooters of all varieties and any truly great game no matter what system or what year it came out.
If you want to check out my music page please do so:

also, i can't get my avatar to load. what gives?

Rockin'-B says hi
Let me say hi to all videogame enthusiasts here!
My videogame lifecycle began with a SEGA Game Gear, continued with a Mega Drive II and sort of culminated with the SEGA Saturn. I bought a japanese Saturn as soon as it was released in japan and I did the same when the Dreamcast came out there. When Shenmue 1 was released, I had to buy a european Dreamcast in order to play the game - and of course, I didn't hesitate to do so
.
During the last years, my videogame collection has grown, a couple of consoles have been added (SEGA Mega CD, 32x, Atari Jaguar) that I couldn't afford when they were released. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to buy modern consoles after the DC, I only own some XBox games for the console of my nethew.
The SEGA Saturn somehow became the most beloved console of mine. Back then I loved it for it's games, it's beautiful design and it's extraordinary price. Later I loved it for it's interesting multi-chip hardware architecture and for it's infinite possibilities when programming homebrew games for it.
Oh right, when the Dreamcast homebrew scene came up, I played a lot of homebrew and started admiring and respecting people who could program videogame consoles. I ultimately wanted to do that, myself. So I became a homebrew developer by programming the Dreamcast VMU in assembly. I had some short attempts on Dreamcast and GP32, too, but settled down on SEGA Saturn.

Hey, all. Another newbie to the forums, here, though I've been keeping tags on the site for months. Useful stuff, Racketboy!
I'm just a sixteen year old dude from Indiana. Outside of school and sociality, I'm big on drawing, humor, and, obviously, playing games. I've a GBA SP, Genesis (I'll stop playing it when I'm dead), PS2, and Dreamcast, all of which get a fair share of attention, and I'm considering adding a Saturn and PSP to the mix, judging by the rave attention given to the former and the growing number of 2D games (especially fighters!) on the latter. As far as taste goes, it's mostly what's seen here... Old, but not too old. If it's 2D, I'll get my mitts on it at some point, but fighting games are my specialty, shmups coming in at a close second.
Just figured I'd take this introductory liberty before gallivanting about the boards. I look forward to mingling with this crowd! Here's a little something fun by me in exchange for your reading efforts:
