Things you want to do with your life... Goals? Dreams?

So what are they? What sort of ideas do you have? I mean, be vague here... I don't want anyone stealing ideas, haha

Well me? I have a huge gaming library, some real life, others on my computer, I would like to build a huge interchangeable arcade cabinet. Everything from my massive mame collection (Which I've gone through the entire 5,000 games and made a collection of only games that are either great, or not mahjong) along with a ton of PSX titles and my PS2 and 360. I've had 2 PS3's in the last 4 years but I had to sell my first and I gave my last one back to my ex.

But that's one of my small goals.

Long terms goals, well I have ideas for games and my short term goal would be start work on a game that I've been brain storming for the last couple of years. I have alot of bad ass ideas on paper including story, characters and things that would be unique to gameplay. It would be 2 player and online multiplayer would be the biggest draw. I don't want to give to much out but if anything ever comes of it remember this post!

I'm in school for graphic design but I'm torn between that and game design. I feel like graphic design is more realistic towards a career and game design would be more for personal interest. The point in my school career where I need to decide which path I'm taking is coming up soon so I need to decide quickly.

I also love playing guitar. AND, one of my favorite games is Gears of War. With this combinations me and my best friend/room mate have been writing lyrics and riffs for a GoW Thrash Metal band. We have alot of excellent riffs and I have a whole composite notebook full of lyrics but niether one of us really have the time to sit down and actually build a structure for the songs. I see it as something that is a possibilty but no hurry for the moment. It would definetely be for fun and for the music. If anything extra happens then so be it. But of course this is all speculation.

And finally one of my favorite hobbies is designing fake latex wounds. No seriously. I mold them out of clay, Make a negative mold out of plastic with this mixture from home depot, brush the plastic mold with latex, peel it out, paint it up put it on and do the make up. People always ask me to do their halloween costumes and I do it for free. I love it.

I have alot of ideas for bigger projects but at the moment I do not have money, equipment or resources so it's always something to look forward to in the future. I think my dream job if not Gears thrash metal super star, is to do something with stage effects for movies one day.

This was me last halloween. Now I was a little low on supplies. I didn't have liquid latex at the time or the seams would have been flawless. It didn't matter because at the time I was in alot of dark bars on halloween and everyone thought I looked great. Haha, good times.

I don't really know right now. There are things I've been told I'm good at. Drawing, acting and I know French which could get me work as a translator or something. I don't really know what it is I want yet though. I took a double major when I was in college for French and Spanish, but then I moved got a good job and never really finishd college. If I went back now I'd probably want to do something else. Maybe something with art, computer science or maybe get a business degree, start my own business. I really don't like working for others as I have a strong independant streak.

At the moment, I'm just trying to pay bills,save money, form good relationships and stay in shape. I read a lot of stuff on spirituality and the nature of this universe we live in, which may lead me to whatever it is I'm meant to do in life.

I don't have traditional values, so I don't see myself getting married and having kids. That doesn't interest me at all. My life is MY LIFE, which means I don't plan on spending all of it worrying about a wife and kids and being a slave to their needs. And while I'm currently at a job that is best described by just saying, "watch Office Space" it's not what I want long term. I would like to do something creative or be involved in some kind of creative process. I can't stand having a NORMAL job where you just feel like another cog in the machine

As far as gaming goals are concerned. A complete collection of all the great CIB games for the SNES, then I'll move on to another console, then another after that, etc, etc. I also would like to own at least one arcade machine

I want to read Japanese fluently and write successful fiction in English.

ThrashOmen, great makeup job! Are you from northern Cali? Zombie-ness aside, you look incredibly familiar...

My long, longterm goal is to become a published author of fiction (fantasy and sci fi), but I'm also working with a local theater with a play I wrote too. I've been writing almost all my life, so it's my absolute MAIN dream to become a published author.

My current career pursuit though (as the writer one is kinda lofty) is to become a preschool/elementary teacher. That's what I'm going to college for, and I almost have all the credits I need to take the next step and become certified in the field.

Another long, LONG, longterm goal is to become totally fluent in Japanese and move to Japan someday. I've had a near lifelong fascination and love of Japan and its language, culture, everything. I've studied the language for years now and I've taken a few semesters of it too, but I still have a LOT to learn. LOVE it though.

And for gaming, I hope to expand my NES and N64 collections substantially and also pick up some other older consoles I'm missing...Ones like the Sega Genesis as well as more obscure ones like the Virtual Boy. I soo want a power glove too, but alas, that is for another day.

Long term life goals? Generally just to have a decent paying and rewarding job that gives me enough money to support my hobbies and pay my bills. I'd like to do something creative as well, be it music, comics, or something else.

Collecting wise, I'd like to get at least 25-30 good games for each console I own, as well as own at least one (playable) title that's worth over $100 just because. I'd also like to have my CD collection at least match my game collection in pure numbers. I'd also like an arcade machine, probably a Mortal Kombat II cab or something.

In the short term I plan to buy a house early next year; I've almost got enough saved up. Further down the line I'd like to get married and maybe have kids that I can raise properly, with an appreciation for the classics (Mario Bros, Zelda, etc). And as a very long term goal I'd like to finally beat my large video game collection (that keeps growing as new stuff comes out).
