Has anyone seen any PS3 games on a 3d TV yet?

Post by miked »

Dont get me wrong I dont plan on going out and dropping 2 grand on a 3dtv, but has anyone gotten to check out sonys few offerings in 3d yet?

I recently saw Toy Story 3 in 3d which was my first 3d movie. I was pretty amazed by what I saw and I think this could benefit gaming quite alot. To actually have depth perception in a racing game would be nice for me. Since this new generation of systems has come out I have had problems with racing games. I can never tell how close turns actually are and I always go into them way too fast. I boot up a PS2, GC or DC racing game and everything seems perfectly fine, but I play a new racer and everything goes to hell.

It would also be nice in first person shooters if my enemies actually stood out more from the backrounds. It would make them much more visible.

So have any of you guys gotten to check anything out yet? How underwhelming is it.......

I saw Nvidia's 3D glasses in a store with Resident Evil 5. The 3D effect works much better for video games than it does for movies. But still the glasses are a pain.

Yeah. I saw that off road racer game (I want to say MotorStorm but I can't remember) with a 3D TV. I was actually really impressed. Stuff was coming at me from all directions and it really felt like I was in the 3rd person camera filming as I was racing. It was really cool to watch. Now to play, I don't know as it was just video.

My dad bought a nice Samsung 55" 3DHDTV and I hooked my PS3 up to it. It's pretty cool. I only played some demos, but my favorite was Super Stardust HD. It looked really neat.

I'm still in the Twilight Zone with DVDs and last Gen gaming.

Local store had a ton of 3D BlueRay players on display. Is technology moving too fast and cleaning out the wallet? Wait till the next go around when 3D becomes glasses free for another upgrade start all over again.

Crap now I gotta buy that movie again for the fourth time!

I tried Tron on 3D at a convention. Since it was put my Sony the screens were good and the consoles like new.

I have to say, I was not impressed. It didn't really offer much better depth. If you compare, yes, you can notice the difference quite well but I decided that it was not worth the hassle of wearing glasses! It was simply average and felt boring.
