So these games are listed as compatible with .8c of HDLoader if you rip them with PC/WinHiip, but has anyone actually played them all the way through? Rock Band 2 boots but is a DVD-9 like the God of War games and you can't play the songs off the second layer. So I'm guessing the God of War games will just freeze up at some point?
Just like to hear from someone who knows.

What version of winhiip are you using? I have ripped DVD9 games in winhiip and on the PS2 and have never had a problem on games deemed compatible with .8c . I have even got a few games that were not compatible to run though game boot loader hacks and the like. (Bloody Roar 3, Twisted Metal:Head On, Maybe a few others) I would try to rip them on my Ps2 if you are having issues with your winhiip install.
What is your transfer method? I know a few versions of ps2 dumb are not compatible with the partition system of .8c . If you PM me I might be able to dig up some goodies for your use.

So I take it you have played through the God of War games?
Anyway, thanks for the quick help Zandengoff. I'm using WinHiip 1.7.6 and a USB-IDE cable to transfer the games. This all came about because Rock Band 2 was freezing on songs on the second layer and it suddenly occurred to me that my beloved God of War might not even work right either. I mean they boot okay but I haven't had time to play them far enough to see if they work all the way through.
Also can't get Mr. Mosquito to run.
What was cool was I tried OPL v7 and found that it fixes the sound issues in Gungrave. Sweet!

I use HDAdvance 2.0 to load HDLoader 8b+.
God of War plays fine all the way thru. God of War 2, I have so far gone about halfway thru, still no problems.
For DVD9 games, I use HDAdvance 3.0 to setup PS2 and HDL DUMB with a Crossover cable direct from PC to PS2 Fat network adapter.
