agreed.dsheinem wrote:That haul I posted yesterday in the "Finds" thread was a result of this sale + EDGE discount. They may do some things wrong, but these sales always feel so right.noiseredux wrote:B2G1 June 18-20. Ya'lls can boycott all you want -- I'ma get me some free GBA games.
Re: Gamestop is evil
I just picked up SMT:Digital Devil Saga 2 on PS2 for $25, and then after learning of this deal, got Metal Gear Acid, Parappa The Rapper and Lumines II on PSP for $17. Hurray, filling out that PSP collection - sucks that I didn't get there in time to pick up SFA3Max.
Oh yeah, all the games were in great condition w/ manuals. Booyakka.

Another rant. paid for renewal of Edge card in April this year and the game Informer magazine stops. Turns out on the renewal the store system somehow deleted my Zip code. Fixed locally but in order to get the magazine fixed was told I have to call direct to Game Informer myself. CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE.
EDIT
Called Game Informer magazine, was referred to a regular long distance number back East with chance of having to getting an answering machine due to time difference and weekend approaching. Unsatisfactory!
Store associate very likely did not update all my info, not even the new edge card number that was issued. Lucky at least computer showed renewal in April 2010, lazy bastard!
Ended up calling Gamestop Corporate (1-800-883-8895) to get this fixed. Took 15 minutes and a couple holds while the service guy researched and talked to his boss. My new subscription will start in August with new Edge Card direct from Game Informer, guess it means my discount also gets extended. Okay I guess that is workable considering the local store's screw-up.
Lesson learned, 1st always call corporate to resolve issues.
Every-time I have a renewal I'll try to remember to have the store associate read back ALL my information off the computer back to me.

Re: Gamestop is evil
found a used copy (mint case and manual) of Contra: Shattered Soldier for PS2. Went to the counter to see if the disc is also in mint condition......................IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE IN STOCK! they have the freakin case/manual but not the disc itself
. They threw away the case i have taken in their pile of crap. I asked them what their going to do with the game case since they don't have the game in stock. THEY GAVE IT TO ME FOR FREE!
(something that don't happen everyday in Gamestop) so i have a mint case and manual but no game.
...a little later that very evening i told my friend about the incident and he bought a copy of the disc for me at his local store. thanks buddy! (you know who you are)

Good for you. The game probably got sold earlier or maybe it was in the yellow envelope cardboard display box. The real shame is that rather then holding the case if the game was found, lazy employee ready to just toss. At least you got the complete package.

The end of that video was awesome. Everything should end with evil laughter.

Ha ha ha, oh man. I always get a hoot out of seeing people that have no earthly idea how game trades work.wip3outguy7 wrote:
You're never going to get half of your investment back, especially on games as fucking old as those. Won't happen at GameStop and it won't happen at any other store either - and if it does happen at another store, I can assure you, that store won't be staying in business for very long.
It's called a fucking middle man. GameStop? They aren't going to play your games. All they want is a profit. Buy low, sell high. Run a business any other way, and it will be going belly up the same way Game Crazy did.

I don't think there's anything evil about it either. It's just business. Margin doesn't care how cool your games are.the7k wrote:Ha ha ha, oh man. I always get a hoot out of seeing people that have no earthly idea how game trades work.wip3outguy7 wrote:
