Doujin Shmups

Post by Octopod »

I tried to use the search feature but came up empty handed.

Not sure if everyone knows about these games or not so I figured I would make a thread. The developer, x.x, makes games similar in style to what Cave does. But they are free.

You can get to them from this shootthecore page.

I recommend Blue Wish Resurection Plus for anyone who has not played it before. I haven't played it for about two years but I fired it up this morning and it is as fun as I remembered.

Edit: If anyone can figure out how to DL Green Wind please let me know.

There was just a collection of doujin SHMUPs released on PSN, under the title Gundemonium Recollection. I believe they were originally released on the PC by indie developer Rockin' Android, but the PS3 port is just as good. It's a shame they didn't include some of their cooler SHMUPs in the collection, though; they've come up with some great games.

I had heard of the blue one, but haven't had time to play it. Didn't know there were more.

Thanks!

Ivo.

Yeah, Edens Aegis and Edens Edge are fun too.

Edit - We should have a doujin thread at least. I used to play this doujin run n gun where you played a nun with a machine gun and once in a while you would get inside this little mechs but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called.

Some other good ones I used to play are Kamui, Hellsinker, Ether Vapor and CHo Ren Sha. They probably have links at Shoot the Core too.

BTW, the run n gun I was thinking of was called Full Metal Sister Marilu. If anyone has a DL link it would make me happy.
