I have had this happen a few times so it really does take some getting used to. I have to agree that they could have made them bigger so it was easier to control. I've gotten used to it where it almost never happens now though and I have big fingers. It is much easier to get used to then a lot of the bad virtual stick controls that will never work properly with any amount of practice IMO.
Still, I definitely see where you are coming from. You won't get the DS version for $1.99 though. You could spend the extra cash and get a conductive stylus.

Hey jp1, have you played Gameloft games? They have good virtual sticks imo. Real Soccer 10, Blades of Fury, NOVA, etc. all work well with their virtual stick.jp1 wrote:I have had this happen a few times so it really does take some getting used to. Yeah, I actually listed a couple of them a page back. Blades of Fury is one of my favorites as well as Zombie Infection. NOVA controls well it just isn't my kind of game. I don't know why gameloft can get it right while so many others fail.
To be fair though Rayman 2 which is also by Gameloft controls like garbage.

My big recommend is Ghosts'n Goblins: Gold Knights. I don't think most people even know that Capcom put out an all new GnG on the Iphone. Go buy it!!!

I picked up Brother in arms 2: global front a few days ago when it was on sale and was really fun! If you liked Modern Combat, then you'll love this game.

Hook Champ and Super Quick Hook for iPhone/iPod touch.
This game is amazing! I think everyone here would fall in love with it instantly.
So start with Hook Champ. I believe it's 99 cents on the app store right now. It's all pixel graphics and you're an adventurer who captures ancient artifacts and escapes from the curse that protects them!
Basically, think about the ninja rope in worms, to those of you who have played it, and it's basically one tap on the screen to shoot your grappling hook, and you swing as fast as you can out of the tomb collecting coins and treasure.
All of the loot you find can be used at the store to buy upgrades, characters and character specific items as well. But the thing you'll find yourself buying the most of is...
HATS! The game's central theme is all about hat fashion. It's so quirky but it's awesome and you'll find yourself sucked into the smooth gameplay, bad ass 8-bit music and hilarious dialogue from the characters.
There were updates to the game that have extra characters with new weapons, items and yes, HATS that are 99 cents extra. There's only two and you don't have to buy them if you don't want, but after you've beaten the game you're going to want to.
I just have to say, I <3 Hookbot. The loveable metal idol crushing hat wearing bot who just wants to be loved.
If you have an iPhone or iPod touch you have to pick this up. A retro fan cannot be without it!
If you fall in love like me there is a sequel called Super Quick Hook that expands on the game in a completely new style which is just as good! I've been playing it non stop the last few days but I really think everyone should check out Hook Champ first!

There is also a free Lite version, but trust me... BUY IT!
