They make a lot of games for the Nintendo DS, such as the Professor Layton series, Ni No Kuni, Dragon Quest IX, and many others.Gamerforlife wrote: LOL, yeah I love Darkstalkers 4 too.
Wouldn't Level 5 fall under the Sony category?

Quality over Quantity. When Rare was with Nintendo they had EXTRAORDINARY games for the N64. DK64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing. All excellent games.Gamerforlife wrote:The Viva Pinata games were amazing, but it doesn't seem like they've done anything note worthy since then.slowslow325 wrote:I had to choose Nintendo since Mystique wasn't on the list...
But seriously, I would have chosen Rareware, but I didn't see it. On second thought, Rareware sucks now, but they used to be GREAT!
Rare has very little output, but damn some of their stuff like Conker and Viva Pinata is just damn amazing
Then Microsoft got their hands on Rare. Now, they make mostly crap games. Perfect Dark Zero, Banjo Kazooie Nuts n' Bolts. At first I was kinda mad that they left Nintendo, but now I don't care since their games suck now. The only thing I don't like is they have rights and stuff.

Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts was good.
Perfect dark zero was originally slated as a gamecube title, When rare was owned by nintendo. It had a large number of problems because of the switch.

I can't really judge Nuts n' Bolts as I've never played it, but from reading reviews and watching Gameplay videos it looks like something I wouldn't like. It also doesn't look at all like the original.yomomma1 wrote:

I see. They used to be exclusive to Sony though, but things changed. Their only game that I've played was Jeanne D'Arc, which I loved.the7k wrote:They make a lot of games for the Nintendo DS, such as the Professor Layton series, Ni No Kuni, Dragon Quest IX, and many others.Gamerforlife wrote: LOL, yeah I love Darkstalkers 4 too.

Well, even back when they were big on the PS2, they were working on a MMORPG for the Xbox. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True_Fantasy_Live_Online
It got cancelled, but it was still proof that they have always been a third party. Much like Insomniac Games and Sucker Punch, they've always been independent - they just have a strong preference for Sony.

@slowslow
You haven't played it hmmm.
It isn't like the Banjo Kazooie or tooie.
But it is a good game, different from the others. (EXAMPLE) Super mario. bros 2 is a great game, but it is different.

Hl1 and its expansions used the GoldSrc Engine which was a modified Quake 1 Engine.RyaNtheSlayA wrote: mmm I thought Half Life and Opposing Force were built on a modified version of the Quake 2 engine.
