I picked Sony. They certainly have fewer big games and franchises than other names on this list, but some of their first party stuff just blows away everything else out there(TeamIco comes to mind). Sony is good about trying new stuff and pushing the artistic envelope. Some great stuff from them is The Mark of Kri, Sly Cooper series, Ratchet and Clank, Patapon, and MediEvil. I also think Team Ico is pretty much the definitive games as art company
And can I just say, why the hell isn't Sega on the list? Can't we just boot aside some mostly useless company, like EA?

Capcom holds a dear place in my heart followed very closely by pre 2003 Sega. It's also kinda funny how Sony has evolved as a games company. Back in the original Playstion days they depended on third party developers for the most part, while now most of the best stuff on the ps3 comes from their studios. How times change.

yep, I know there are a lot more devs out there, but these are just the most affluent ones that also hold a fairly decent track record (I could only pick ten). As far as smaller developers go, I would definitely go with treasure.

Off of that list Sony if you're including the devs under their wing.
However, my all time favorite developers are (in order), Sega AM2, iD/Raven Software, and Sucker Punch Studios.

The Viva Pinata games were amazing, but it doesn't seem like they've done anything note worthy since then.slowslow325 wrote:I had to choose Nintendo since Mystique wasn't on the list...
But seriously, I would have chosen Rareware, but I didn't see it. On second thought, Rareware sucks now, but they used to be GREAT!
Rare has very little output, but damn some of their stuff like Conker and Viva Pinata is just damn amazing

I have to say John Carmack is pretty high up in the list of favorite developers. The man revolutionized 3d everything.

Nintendo and Capcom are tied for me as my all-time favorite. It's tough to choose between Zelda and Mega Man. Both developers have been great. Other favorites of mine are Hal Labs and Atlus.

Compile, before they went Puyo crazy and then died. Or if I want to have a little more variety then just awesome shmups, Konami. Especially in the 8 and 16 bit days.
