game boy question
game boy question
I'm thinking of buying some gameboy games for my gba. I already looked at some titles but my question is is it hard to play these games since i never had a gameboy growing up and yes even though i play with the gba i only own games that are the nes classic series or games that are ported from the nes, snes and genesis systems. So are the gb and gbc games hard to play these days and what should i get if i get used to the graphics and gameplay. P.S no pokemon or rpgs. Thanks

Why would they be "hard to play"? Some titles are absolutely worth it!mas wrote:I'm thinking of buying some gameboy games for my gba. I would list some, but I'm sure if noiseredux sees this he'll have a lot. But if he does see this I bet he would say:
KID DRACULA
so I'm going to beat him to it.

That's a good starting point for sure.
Good gameplay is good gameplay! "Good graphics" do not always a good game make.=)

Yeah, but bad graphics can ruin an otherwise great game. I know exactly what mas is talking about. I have a hard time playing some GB games because of the graphics.rubbercarp wrote:Good gameplay is good gameplay! "Good graphics" do not always a good game make.=)
mas, why not test games out on an emulator first? This is what I would do. Download the ROM of a game to try it out before you buy it.

As long as the graphics don't affect the gameplay. I usually have a troublesome time playing them on the original Gameboy because they blur so much, but I have no problems on the SP or the GAMEBOY PLAYER!Ziggy587 wrote:Yeah, but bad graphics can ruin an otherwise great game. I don't know, I had a tough time playing the Donkey Kong Lands on my Super Gameboy or on an emulator. It just looks too dark. I never tried to force myself to "get into" it, though, so I can't fully comment whether I think the games are unplayable (for me) because of the graphics.

Clearity is a must in games for me, which is why I have trouble with a lot of retro games as of late. Luckily, the Dreamcast has nice smooth graphics that aren't hard on my eyes.
