1: No More Heroes:
This is odd for me because its a new franchise that only happened this generation but iv honestly never played anything quite like this and it blends so many of my favorite game genres, music, style, art and influences into one this game stands for my likes, dislikes everything seriously.
2: Panzer Dragoon
What can i say i love arcade shooters, its has a beautiful art style that no other game has matched and i also love RPGs, so i get the best of both worlds with this series.
3: Silent Hill
well the first horror survival i ever played was Dino Crisis on psone and i thought was pretty rad but Silent Hill blew me out of my chair and scared me half to death, from excellent character development, story, art design, sound and gameplay this series always stand as one of my favorites, though i ignore 5 exists.
4: Sonic The Hedgehog
Well what can i say the blue blurs been with me since i was 6 and loved him ever since i always had the PC ports of the megdrive games the first i ever played was Sonic CD which still stands as my favorite today, second Sonic Adventure 2 and third is Sonic & Knuckles.
5: Metal Gear Solid
Its Metal gear nuff said.
others are:
The Legend of Zelda
Metal Slug
Darkstalkers
Shin Megami Tensei
Favorite franchises !

Re: Favorite franchises !
I like Shin Megami Tensei games a lot. It's the one franchise I buy games at full price for.
I also like Resident Evil games.
Onimusha games are cool.
I've always loved Nintendo franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, F-Zero, etc.)
There's others that I like that don't quite have enough sequels to count like Zone of the Enders or Katamari Damacy

DW bought it day one when it came out, I would add it into there but sadly no other games in the series have been made =C

For me, I'll say Civilization series.

Monkey Island
While nothing compares to the first two games, and 4 is something everyone would want to forget about, I utterly love the characters and situations of these games. Really these games were a large part of my childhood, as Point and Click Adventures were in general, but none so much as following the life of Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate (TM).
