Honestly, I was just thinking of DK Barrel Blast and its really upset me..Hell why the heck didn't they just make it compatible with the bongos! Considering the price people paid for those things and that the game was aweful with the wii controler. I never got this decision.
So this brings me to samba de amigo for Wii.
The control scheme they currently have is nunchunk + Wiimote
I want the DC maracas to somehow be usable with the Wii.
Could this be done? Would it require a lot of additional effort from Gearbox?
I already emailed them to put in a request
After playing with the original maracas I just can't imagine just using Wii controllers.
So look guys the game is still in development. Take action and email gearbox
Tell them how much the hardcore DC fans would appreciate
1. the ability to use the Dreamcast maracas with the game (as we spend insane amounts of money on them)
2. A option to use 2 Wii remotes
3. Optional new maracas
Don't stand down. Stand up at sundown!!!! And email email email
let these guys know how hardcore we are. I mean for !@$@'s sake I know some hardcore fans who own up to 2 sets of DC maracas. Let your voice be heard!!! For hardcore fans not including support would be a major blow.
Who wants to use their SdA Maracas for Samba de Amigo Wii?

Do you want Wavebird quality wireless DC controllers?
Messiah Entertainment, makers of wireless 2.4 GHz SNES controllers say “if there's enough support for it” they'll consider it. So do all us DC fans a favor. Email or call! Make a request for wireless DC Controllers.!!!http://www.playmessiah.com/company/index.htm#contact

So... are you expecting them to make Dreamcast adapters or something?
While it would no doubt be cool, I really doubt they would seriously consider it considering there aren't that many out there.
Also keep in mind, you have all these Virtual Console games and you have to buy a third party adapter if you want to play with the original NES or SNES controllers.

Yes I would expect them to make dreamcast to Wii converters.
Or at least make a new maraca peripheral.
In terms of virutal console its obviously not that that big a deal to play those types of games with the VC controller. But when it comes to something like samba de amigo it wasn't about just buying the original system plus controllers, it was about buying an expensive DC peripheral (in addition to the original DC controllers). Back in the day these would cost alot. Indeed recently I just spent around 140 dollars to buy a set of maracas.
SdA was a game meant to be played with maracas and I feel players who bought the original maracas should have the option of using them with the Wii game. Remember $140 is close to the amount of the Wii system! So obviously hardcore samba de amigo fans would buy both a Wii and SdA if the new game was compatible

Oh, I thought you were saying you would rather play with DC controllers than a new set of maracas.
I would think a new set would be MUCH more likely.

No your first thought was right. I'd like to use my original DC SdA maracas with the Wii version
I don't think this should be that unlikely. All it requires is a adaptor and a little effort. I think that effort would be a real show of love to hardcore fans of the original.

One more thing. I found that gearbox has a message board on their site with a Samba de Amigo fourm.
I tried to register, but was unable due to not having a "ISP email address"
Whoever, has the ability to register over their please make some post on getting the ability to use your Dreamcast Samba de amigo maracas.
It seems these guys are fairly small scale, so they'd like definitely look into the request if it was posted about.

Still I think we Maraca owners really deserve the feature.
We spent a ton of money on the things when they came out for Dreamcast, so isn't it fair that we get a little more use for them?

Sadly, that's not typically how the gaming industry works...
"Why should they use stuff they already have when we can sell them something newer?!"
