Well, I got the modchip about 4 months ago and kind of forgot about it for a while. One of my friends finally offered to help me do the soldering, so we got working on it tonight. We followed all the instructions (for the 32-pin Saturn) EXACTLY as listed, and we still can't get any games to boot with the chip plugged in. The soldering is perfect, the chip was filed down and pushed in as far as it can go, the ribbon cable is securely connected, etc. The only thing we noticed that was a little different was where it says "(It’s the one marked 5VA — if one does not work, try the other)." On my Saturn, it says +5V, not 5VA. It's still the second one from the top, but that's the only thing that seemed odd to me. Also, there's a spot on the chip that says that says +5V. Do they have anything to do with each other?
Everything still works without the chip, so I'm not too worried, I'd just like to figure out the problem here.
Problem with getting the modchip to work
What is it displaying when you boot with a game?
Does a regular game play when you have the chip installed?

I asked that alreadyPerseid wrote:Do originals still boot with the chip connected? If so you might want to check and make sure you don't have a bad image. I've run into an oddly large number of bad Saturn ISOs in my collecting.
The originals aren't working with the chip installed.
