A Nightmare on Elm Street (NES)

Post by Gooseberrysoda »

Besides not following the plot of the original and rather that of the Third movie, what exactly do people hate about it? It's got fun, innovative gameplay, responsive controls, and a perfect difficulty level (Not to mention you can play with FOUR PEOPLE). It's my favorite game on the system, why don't other people like it?

I've gone on so many times about how it's my favorite NES game of all time. Seriously do a search. I've defended the hell out of it. So I'm glad you feel the same.

I don't think I've ever played it. Is it really that good?

most people hate it inexplicably. I've always loved it since release.

What makes you think people 'just' hate it?

because generally speaking when there's lists or threads about "worst games ever" this one seems to pop right up. Even the Angry Video Game Nerd tore it to shreds.

Heaps of games AVGN 'tears to shreds' are decent games, I have not played it, but outside of AVGN I have never heard of it mentioned as if its another ET or something.

it's been mentioned a few times on this board in various "worst games" threads. SO I assume most people hate it.

EDIT: People tend to shit on LJN, but they made a lot of NES & GB games I like a lot.

One thing I really don't like is not knowing where to go, AKA which area that I'm able to go in. And sometimes I'll have to go back through them all because I wasn't standing in the exact right space to go in.

But besides that, it's good fun.
