Scary Books?

Post by Gooseberrysoda »

I'm looking for new scary books to read, but so far Amazon's "Readers who liked this also liked" feature hasn't been helpful. Keeping in mind that I've already read all of Stephan King's good stuff (The Shining, It, Salem's Lot, Desperation, The Regulators, Under the Dome, Insomnia, and plenty others I can't think of off the top of my head), what are some scary/mind-bending novels for me to read?

Not really (scary) books, but most dystopia books are mind bending. Something Wicked This Way Comes is really good if you haven't read it.(not dystopia)

Agree. Barnes and Noble currently sell a book that they published themselves with all of his fiction.

Try 'Ghost Story' by Peter Straub, he co-wrote a few stories with King, good stuff. I really liked 'Shadowland' too.

'Heart-shaped box' by Joe Hill (Stephen Kings son) is a decent read. And 'Hellbound Heart' by Clive Barker. If you're not adverse to graphic novels I'd heartily recommend reading 'The Walking Dead' It's the best zombie story I've ever seen, in ANY medium.

This isn't at all a scary book/series, but since you're into Stephen King, you definitely need to read his Dark Tower series. It's his masterpiece, over 20 years in the making. I could barely put it down.
