Yet no one moans when Mario or Zelda or Metroid get another update, despite Nintendo running those franchises non-stop since the late 80's. There's certainly a lot of sequels at this year's e3 but I don't see how that's a problem when the games look so good.Riqz85 wrote:Anyone see a trend here? What the feck? I thought expo's were for new stuff... They're taking the mic...

i do have a problem with mario and zelda too. I'm really getting bored of playing the same games all the time. I'm a bit worried about the lack of new stuff coming out. Genuinely new.

Re: E3 2010
Mario games evolve a lot. Mario Galaxy is very different form Mario 64. Galaxy 2 is a sequel, but then again Mario Galaxy has not overstayed it's welcome yet, and form what I read from reviews 2 is even better than 1.Riqz85 wrote:i do have a problem with mario and zelda too. But yeah Zelda really really really needs to evolve. New items and new puzzles please. I'm bored of the same puzzle again and again.

It really isn't much about if a gameis good or not. I mean if a game is great... does making an entirely same game with different levels make it another great game? Well yeah but for how long can they milk the franchise... cos that's all they do really... These days all they do is milk to the death

THAT's how you prove I'm wrong?Weekend_Warrior wrote:Troll engine? I think you better compare post counts, dickfuck
Anyway, you guys know who I'm looking forward to getting some information out of? Capcom. They were (understandably) quiet yesterday. I'm hoping for some goodies today.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: E3 2010
There are an awful lot of sequels. And people always talk about the sequels, but there are some new IPs that look really cool this year. Check out the trailers for Project Dust, Journey, and Child of Eden though.Riqz85 wrote:Anyone see a trend here? Infamous 2, GT 5, Dead Space 2, Portal 2, Motorstorm 3, Killzone 3, Gears of War 3....

Project Dust comes from Eric Chahi, who made Another World
Journey comes from Jenova Chen, who made flOwer.
Child of Eden comes from Tetsuya Mizuguchi, who made Rez
EDIT: Oh, and check out Scott Pilgrim VS The World

Re: E3 2010
Steam is a big deal, that's true, but it's not something I've ever used or had an interest in. So the annoucement made no impact on me. As for Valve developing for the PS3, didn't the PS3 already get a port of The Orange Box? I know Valve didn't work on the port and it reportedly wasn't good, but The Orange Box is STILL a Valve game.Bootaaay wrote:My understanding was that it's just Steam Cloud support, not actual Steam on PS3.the7k wrote:Steam on PS3. I think that's worth bragging about. In fact, I'd say that's my favorite news of E3.
They're bragging about finally getting Valve to develop for the PS3, and presumably this was only made possible by Sony allowing Valve some level of Steam integration (something Microsoft would never agree to).Gamerforlife wrote:Portal 2 is nice, but no matter how many extras and bonuses it has, it not a PS3 exclusive. So what are they bragging about?
Personally, i'm really excited about Infamous 2 and Motorstorm 3, plus GT5 looks amazing. Also, can't wait to get my hands on Dead Space 2 and thatgamecompany's (devs of flOw & Flower) new title 'Journey'; http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=398445
So yeah, the Valve annoucements didn't wow me, though I am looking forward to playing Portal 2 and Gabe was pretty entertaining.

Re: E3 2010
If Steam on the PS3 means you can install the PS3 version of Steam games you own, well that would be awesome - Atleast Source engine games. Meaning I could buy the PC version of the Orange box and get it both on the PC and PS3. Will it happen, no, same with cross platform play.
