Yes, the Palutenians will most likely be greatly offended.
It teaches our children about the pagan gods. At least in God of War you did Christ's work by destroying them. (note: I'm Jewish)

Fair enough.

what has this got to do with Kid Icarus apart from being it's name-sake and containing same cast of characters?

what happened to the whole platforming aspect?
what happened to exploring the castles?

amongst my top favorites on both the NES and GB, now remade into.... this?

I for one am hugely disappointed.

I agree. And what about the walking eggplant curse?

Yes, with a smattering of Sin and Punishment too.

I instantly thought of Panzer Dragoon Orta.
Notice that in the trailer it mentions only being able to use the miracle of flight for a maximum of 5 minutes, so I bet there will be some platforming/ on-foot action in there as well.

I really enjoyed playing Kid Icarus on Together Retro, and I still think this franchise reboot looks cool and might produce a good game.

It's not like this stops them from making a 2D Kid Icarus as well, and in fact it might be more likely for that to happen if this game sells well.

My point of view is that it isn't this shooter or a 2D (they aren't mutually exclusive) and as long as this is a good game then it won't be harming the IP's name. Consider the 3D Ninja Gaiden or the Metroid Prime games, which you may not like but are considered good games. If the respective companies release another great 2D Ninja Gaiden or Metroid does the existence of the 3D outings really affect you? You have to realize that the fact that the 3D games got made doesn't mean it was by cannibalizing a would-be 2D game of the same IP.

I see what you mean about Space Harrier but Kid's world and the gameplay look much different.

Me before E3-Aw hell, screw the Wii and it's gimmicky party games and exercise nonsense. I love my PS3!

Me after E3-Damnit! I need a Wii!

Still love my PS3 though :)

I also thought of Space Harrier when I saw the game. I WILL be interested if it looks like it.
