Total noob wants to use a pandora battery on his PSP.

Post by BlackDS »

(I searched, and I didn't see a thread like this)
So, I would like to hack my PSP to use emulators, but when I googled what the proper steps to do this, I honestly thought It would just be safer for me to ask someone who knows on this site rather than risk bricking my PSP

I have:
A Factory-made 2-in-1 Pandora Battery for both PSP 1000 and 2000
A PSP 2000 (With system Software version 6.20; model number AR082489984)
A 1 GB Memory Stick (for something called a magic memory stick :?: )
A 16 GB Memory Stick (The one I will actually use, for all my ROMS)
Data Cable (of course)

Can someone tell me the step-by-step instructions on how to properly hack my PSP?

Look it up on Youtube. I found out how to do it there. Then I found all the emulators later on. I did this a litle over a year ago. I too have a Pandora Battery. You have to download a program called magic memory stick maker. Or at least thats how I did it. Heres where I found alot of stuff:

Do a search for PSP stuff. Click on PSP in the dropdown menu and search for whatever program or emulator your looking for. Make sure youre searching for the right stuff (Fat PSP or PSP slim)

I use to have the guides I liked bookmarked and have linked them several times on this forum. But for some reason, the guides keep disappearing. I searched and found this one real fast, it looks good...

Oh jeez. I've been working on it for about an hour, did some troubleshooting of my own, and now im stuck because half the data is "corrupted" on my psp when I run it under GAME.

Well that makes sense, I just realized that the guide I linked is the unbricker only. You need a PSP that already has CFW to use that guide. I thought it was an unbricker/install guide like most of them are.

I seriously can't find any good guides right now. Try this one out...

Man that's frustrating. So much good useful knowledge is going to be lost completely because someone didn't pay their hosting, or changed to new forum software. If you're lucky, google or archive.org will have a cache, but usually nothing.

Well in one case, the author decided to remove ALL of his guides for whatever reason. It was the best PSP CFW guide I've seen, and I always linked it. Why he felt he had to delete it, I don't know.

When I hack my psp, will I have to keep it running all the time for it to stay hacked?

I think what you read is about the ChickHEN hack for the new PSP Slims that original couldn't be hacked. If I remember correctly, there's now a way to make that permanent. This only applies to the newer PSP Slim models. I don't remember the model numbers off the top of my head though.

Wait, you say I need to install CFW first, then I can hack. However, in the youtube video linked in your second guide, He uses the magic memory stick first, to flash his psp. :?:
