Haven't you learned anything from Sega? Or even Nintendo's add ons like the N64 disk drive?

People never buy add ons for their consoles.

Wii Fit was a success, cause it came bundled with the game it was made for, and developers support it only as an extra, not as the only way to play a game.

Likewise with the Motion Plus, which has only, what, 3 games that support it?

But the motion plus is a small investment for the consumer, compared to this.....thing.

This seams like a rip off of everything Nintendo did (wii sports/fit ect) and will probably not gather that much attention from the casual crowd MS wants so bad. For a new piece of tech that is supposed to make breakthroughs in game design, they sure aren't making anything new with it.

and one last thing. Kinect, really? Was Kinetic not available?
/gospel truth
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

IIRC, English isn't ZeroAX's first language.

Oh yeah. Though that was meant to be a sarcastic jab at the silly marketing speak, not ZeroAX. :)

that's what I thought as well, so no harm done :D

Yeah I didn't know about the "meaning" behind the name, at the time I made that post.

Sounds really dumb to me. I'm sorry I don't want to come out as a Microsoft hater, but Nintendo did this perfectly, with Wii-we and Mii-me. Truly a masterful idea, along with the bowing iis in the Wii commercials.

Microsoft seams like the lame kid in school, who tries to copy everything the cool kid does, and fails miserably at everything

I have a Wii and barely play that, but at least if I want to play a driving game I have a steering wheel. It just seems too much to have nothing at all. Wielding a Wiimote as a sword is just as lame, but better than flailing my hands around with nothing in them. As for changing the channel by waving your hands, I can see this leading to a lot of accidental channel changes with 5 minutes left in the third period of game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup finals.

On another note, I understand why Sony and Microsoft are doing this. We can complain about the Wii all we want, but they have seen a great deal of success. Sony and Microsoft must feel that they HAVE to do something to cash in on that market. Now I think Nintendo would be wise to take a hint and start pushing games with the classic controller just as much as the Wiimote. They are obviously missing out on a large market and could do serious damage if they got on board.

Quick thought: The only way that I think these new gimmicks can work is if they're advertised in a "Genesis Does" style. From what I've seen, Natal seems to just offer what Nintendo's giving out without the waggler, but Sony seems to be going the "Can the Wii give you this?", with an air of hypocrisy attached.

Here's my impression of the Kinect. Several ripoff Wiigames and a couple of driving games where you can't control the velocitator. That's probably fine in the Mario Kart clone because in most recent Mario Kart games you never need to break or let off the gas if you're playing well, but that Ferrari game?
