Re: Your Favorite Foods
Burger wise, there's a Five Guys and a Smashburger right next to me that both tempt me when I'm having a lazy lunch day during the week.
Freebirds makes awesome burritos. Their Super Monster size is the size of a small baby. I got a Monster once, but it's still pretty crazy. Even the normal size is plenty. Unfortunately since I moved where I am now, I'm pretty far from Freebirds, but a placed call Bullritos just opened up next to me. I gave it a try last week and doesn't have the ridiculous size choices, but it was just as delicious.
I really need to find a place with good bun near where I am living. I'm not near any of the good places where I've previously lived or worked anymore. Most places have bun with chicken, beef, shrimp,. or Vietnamese egg rolls on top. Bun is my favorite food that's actually not terrible for me. I also need to learn to prepare the vermicelli properly so I can make it myself since it isn't a hard dish. My last attempt was better than previous ones.

In Tally we have a Five Guys but it isn't that great. This local place Monk's makes some crazy burgers that are awesome...

If you can read the blurry menu pics check out some of those combos.
Nevermind check the menu here: http://www.wellsbrothersbarandgrill.com/

Five guys is pretty good but rediculously expensive. There's a place nearby where the food is half the price, and the burgers are as good or better. I call it the ecoli cafe because I'm not sure they understand the concept of not handling both bun and raw meat.
Of big chain restaurants I think Chilis, O'Charley's, and Red Robin all have really good burgers.

Yup.Jrecee wrote: Before I found some good gyro places in georgia I was in north carolina feeling gyro withdrawl and ran across a gyro restaurant. . . with crappy frozen strips. There's a couple places here that are like that as well, I don't even bother, it's like an entirely different food. And the sauce at those kind of places tends to have the consistancy of watery mayo too.
Around these parts, they top gyros with a head of lettuce.
Yuck.
Re: Your Favorite Foods
Even one of the best gyro places around here puts lettuce on them. Easy enough to ask for it without, they also put feta cheese on it if you want, which I actually like sometimes.Luke wrote:Yup.Jrecee wrote: Before I found some good gyro places in georgia I was in north carolina feeling gyro withdrawl and ran across a gyro restaurant. . . with crappy frozen strips. I'm big into cheese tortellini with marinara. I also make an awesome casserole on occasion that includes rice, broccoli, cheddar cheese, and chicken.
