Is there a list of Best Seller games that have extra content? I figure it'd be a good idea, since the only Best Seller with bonus content, that I know of, is the one you've posted. And I mean besides Glitches being fixed or minor aesthetic changes.

Im very anal when it comes to greatest hits titles. If I can I rather get the original copy at all cost.

Players Choice is similar to PlayStation 2 Greatest Hits and Xbox Platinum Hits, it is a common practice to release a slightly newer version of the game itself. These re-releases contain minor edits to the game code, fixing serious bugs and glitches that were initially missed

I still like the original covers and color manuals better, but good to get the updated game.
Well, except for a notable few such as like Grand Theft Auto coffee, GC Phantasy Star boot disable fixes.

Though Sony-published games are virtually guaranteed to eventually be Greatest Hits titles after they meet their sales and age marks, other companies are not required to release their titles on the Greatest Hits label even if they meet the criteria. A prime example of this is the case of Working Designs' 1999 title Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. The game sold very well, enough to make Greatest Hits, but WD director Victor Ireland decided not to re-release it, keeping with the company policy of not re-releasing games to increase their value among collectors.

Of interest is the fact that from PS1, PSP, PS2 to PS3 had to have a higher initial sell to become a Greatest Hits. PS1 needed only 150,000 sold where as the PS3 needed 500,000 sold to qualify as a Red Label. With such a high initial press run, is the original version really more valuable the Greatest Hits?

Pay more = Get game early, Cool case.
Pay less = Get game later, Gay case.

I just always wondered why the disc or cart itself is also a greatest hits designed? No one is going to see that till they purchased a copy and open it up, so it can't be advertising only.

Sony FINALLY fixed that with current gen platinum games, although the case is still silver and has bright yellow borders on the artwork.

I can't decide which is worse though

Artwork wise probably the PAL one, but what that pic doesn't show is that the case is a gray-silver color, which is better than the NTSC red one...

I remember that the Greatest Hits version of Star Ocean: 'Till The End Of Time had extra content, but then again, it was called the "Director's Cut" in its' Japanese release.

Star Ocean 3 didn't have a greatest hits version though... at least I don't think it did. Either way, the Director's Cut version was the only one released here in the US.

Silent Hill 2 (Ps2) is the big one I always think of when I think of GH games with extra content. The GH version includes the extra features (such as the playable Maria mini-scenario) that were in the xbox release.
