What's wrong with SNES emulation? How good is the Amiga emulation?Niode wrote:Anything based on the Motorola 68k (Neo Geo, Mega Drive/Genesis, Amiga 600 etc), SNES (to an extent) NES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color. Re: Convince me to buy a PSP
Well, if you need convincing besides the games you've seen, don't buy it.
However since you are a newcomer to the system, I'd say get the go, its the most portable and indeed the most comfortable PSP hardware you can get, unless you are that turned off by downloading games, there is no reason not to get it. The hardware on it is absolutely wonderful, the buttons and analog stick all feel good, not just compared to the older PSP's, but just good in general, compared to every handheld. The screen is wonderful too.
Not too mention, if you have a PS3, as well as the video out cable for the go, you can play the games on your TV with the DualShock 3/ Sixaxis. Its awesome.

Older. Not wiser.

Amiga emulation was not too bad when I tried it a couple of years ago, I don't have much use for Amiga emulation though since I have my own Amiga and hundreds of games (most of them are real, the others were done via the null modem method of writing an ADF to a 800k floppy). Like all emulation, it varies from game to game.Hateshinai wrote:What's wrong with SNES emulation? Snes emulation is ok for a lot of simple games. Games like Metroid 3 or Axelay or even Battlefoads have trouble running on the emulator, basically anything with a lot of parallax scrolling or mode 7 will run like utter crap without a load of frameskip.
Now that that the PSPGO is homebrew capable I'm tempted to get one as an emulation machine, the form factor is hard to resist. I wouldn't use it for much else though.

Me and my katamari.
I honestly got a psp for this reason alone (plus the fact that it was just 80 bucks

...Metal?...Gear?
In all seriousness, I'm a DS fanboy who happens to own a PSP. However, there are some pretty good games on the PSP you might want to look into.
Patapon
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
Mega Man X Remake
Just some of my personal favorites.

Remember the PSP has a very short battery life and that if you decide to install Custom Firmware you probably screw up something and can't play some of the really good PSP games.
I put rocket fuel in my vaccuum and it started a fire in my house. I am so mad at Black & Decker for making a vaccuum that I can't do what I want with.
