Apparently the definition of the word "fad" has now been amended to include any franchise that has remained consistently popular for nearly two decades.

"Yeah dude, Street Fighter is such a fad; no wonder it's still so popular after all these years!"

I never tried those actually, but that would be cool I guess. I'm all for a 2d MK game, but Shaolin Monks was so much fun I really wish they would make another one. Mortal Kombat fits so wonderfully into the beat'em up mold. Plus, it's so hard to find a beat'em up where the environment comes into play. I love all the traps in every area you could use against your enemies in Shaolin Monks. And that game had some awesome boss fights. Some more creative than what you expect from a beat'em up

I think Shoalin Monk was the second best thing they did with the MK series (next to MKII). I'm glad that when they made Shaolin Monks they decided to follow the MKII story line, since that is my favorite game in the series. I always though, they should do the EXACT same thing but for the MK3 story line. And by exact same thing, I mean make the core gameplay just as good as Shaolin Monks.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing that. I think Shaolin Monks was underrated. It did well with reviewers, but I don't hear people talk about it much. Some of my favorite games never get talked about(like The Red Star)

I had a lot of fun playing through co-op with a friend. I've been telling my brother that we have to play through it one day. Have you ever played through it as Sub Zero and Scorpion?
