F you, Kojima!
It was advertised that today, Friday June 11th, Hideo Kojima, famed creator of the Metal Gear franchise would be at UNIQLO NYC from 12-2. He would be there to sign anything you bring, but the event would be to promote the newest game, MGS: Peace Walker. I was pumped. I switched my day off with someone at work so that I could go. I arrived at UNIQLO with a friend at 10:45. The line was crazy long. It wrapped around the whole building. And there we waited. At 12:00 they told us Kojima was in traffic and they would start 15 minutes late. Fine.
Fast forward to 1:50. My friend and I have made it to the front of the store. We are close enough to see the entrance mere feet away, when an employee starts making rounds saying that there will be no more signings. Really Kojima?! You arrive 15 minutes late and cut the line 10 minutes early? I am confident that if be had signed or a full 2 hours, I would have my signed game. To make matters worse, I specifically purchased a Big Boss PSP bundle to have signed. I guess that's going on eBay. I understand I took a risk and there was no guarantee my PSP would be signed, but if you say it's from 12-2, it should be from 12-2! Maybe his hand was cramped? He's done these signings before, some how I doubt that was the issue. Just had to express my frustration with people who may understand. I still respect his games but my respect for him has lessened a little.

You and I both know that PSP bundle was going on ebay whether it was signed or not.

Re: F you, Kojima!
I got lucky when I got my signing from Hideo Kojima in San Francisco during Metal Gear Solid 4: World Tour event I almost got cut off despite being in line for several hours. That is unfortunate you didn't get to get to meet him and get anything signed. Hopefully, another chance will come up.

Idolise people and this is what you get. He's just another man. I won't queue in a line for him or anyone else.

You are correct sir. That signed PSP would have gone to eBay. It would have helped finance my girlfriend's engagement ring. My friend who was with me though intended to keep his copy of Snatcher he was hoping to have signed. Oh well. I'll try to pretend the whole thing never happened.Niode wrote:You and I both know that PSP bundle was going on ebay whether it was signed or not.

This guy has a substantially similar story, it could be the same friend of yours who wanted "Snatcher" signed.

I'm going to the signing on Sunday in LA. I'll be f-ing devastated if it's a repeat of your NYC experience.
I'm sorry that happened to you. How completely lame.

Re: F you, Kojima!
That is my friend! He regularly posts stuff on Craigslist. He also has the most intense Saturn collection I have ever seen. In fact his whole video game collection is pretty killer. Put's mine to shame. We know that Kojima doesn't speak English, but we were hoping to get a chuckle out of him when he saw the copy of Snatcher. Unfortunately, we never got the chance.dedalusdedalus wrote:http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/vgm/1787524903.html
