Hahaha This is why I haven't finished Shining Force 3 yet.. I'll pick it up every few months and do a battle but I just don't want it to end!pepharytheworm wrote: 7. The #1 reason I don't finish is because I don't want the game to end so I slow down then eventually stop all togther.

Just wait until they finish translating scenarios 2 and 3 and it won't end for a bit longer.EllertMichael wrote:Hahaha This is why I haven't finished Shining Force 3 yet.. Yeah, I was gonna ask about that! any updates as to when that might be available?spiritplx wrote:Just wait until they finish translating scenarios 2 and 3 and it won't end for a bit longer.EllertMichael wrote:Hahaha This is why I haven't finished Shining Force 3 yet.. Scenario 2 is translated but not edited. So it's fully playable but you might run into some spelling/grammar errors. There might also be some bugs that were introduced by the translation.

Yall have the reason I never finished Shining Force 3 down pat. What kind of timeframe till part 3 is playable? Ill do a binge of SF3 parts 1-3 like its no ones business once it is translated.
Re: Bad habit of not finishing RPGs
I think scenario 3 is mostly (~70%?) translated, although I don't think they make any guarantees about its lack of bugs
Re: Bad habit of not finishing RPGs
Yeah, scenario 2 is playable, but only chapter one is in beta. They have pretty much all of the English inserted, but there is still a lot of playtesting that needs to be done.
legalize freedom (and team) just recently released a fairly big scenario 3 update. However, none of it is in beta, so there could still be issues (other than the known issues).
If you are anything like me, you will wait until the games are 100% finished, according to the translation team. This includes scenario one too, as they are translating that so that it will fit in with the other scenarios (instead of the way the US version ended).
Anyhow, more info can be found here and here for those that are interested.

Yeah, you really should read a quick translation of the original ending, since it's so different from the US ending of SC1.

Re: Bad habit of not finishing RPGs
Im 10 hours in Suikoden TittyKrisis on the DS. The game was good..but it just became so stagnant so quickly. i htink with me its the Random Battle encounters which punish exploration. that and turn based battles.
when i think of RPGs i genuinely adored - they are Secret of Mana, Shadowrun (SNES) Chronotrigger, Illusion of Time (Gaia), Fable 2 and Mass Effect 1 and 2. Ive noticed these dont have random battles or really turn based battles.
Grinding sucks...you should never have to do it really..
JRPGs just dont do it for me anymore...theyre just a symbol of nostalgia and an archaic gaming system refusing to evolve. Look at Mass Effect 2 - it has the brilliant story and towns of an RPG with the combat of Gears of War...imo, thats just perfect.
I like the idea of Rpgs, but the execution can just be terrible sometimes...

This, this, a thousand times this. And also random encounters. They're just so... annoying to me.shaolin242 wrote:that and turn based battles
