Yeah, I'm not sure how I like the graphics either. I was fine with them at first, but seeing them up close like this, I dunno. The Hulk in the second screenshot looks more like an action figure.
I doubt they'll change the graphics, but hopefully this won't make much of a different when it's in motion. We've still yet to actually see the game in motion.
Marvel vs Capcom 3. It's real.
Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3. It's real.
Gameplay Footage. Ryu, Dante & Chris vs Deadpool, Captain America and Iron Man.
Too bad it's such a sausage festival. I really wanted to see Felicia and Morrigan.
Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3. It's real.
I liked the comic book-style fonts they used. The close ups before the supers seemed distracting, though.
Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3. It's real.
Now that looks good. Dante and Deadpool look amazing, Chris looks alright. The other players feel the same as always, but I suppose that's fine. The one thing is, those players sure seem to be taking a ton of hits before they die, I hope this game doesn't end up like Marvel Super Heroes where at least 50% of the matches end in a draw just because it's impossible to actually damage your opponent.

That's why I discourage blocking. If you're blocking then you aren't fighting.Dylan wrote: I hope this game doesn't end up like Marvel Super Heroes where at least 50% of the matches end in a draw just because it's impossible to actually damage your opponent.

I was (foolishly) hoping that the game would have hand-drawn sprites like MvC2.the7k wrote:Yeah, I'm not sure how I like the graphics either. I was fine with them at first, but seeing them up close like this, I dunno. The Hulk in the second screenshot looks more like an action figure.

Exactly. That's why I like games that punish turtlers, like Guilty Gear. What we need in a fighting game is some sort of "momentum" gauge, so that when you turtle your gauge gets too low you start moving more slowly, or taking more damage, or losing the ability to block, etc.MrPopo wrote:That's why I discourage blocking. Along with attacks every character has two types of block. One is the regular block that can be broken with a "guard crush". That can be achieved by pushing the "guard libra" gauge all the way to the opponent's side through repeated attacks. If the opponent keeps blocking, then their guard can be broken, leaving them open for attack. The second type of block is a barrier block, which is initiated by blocking while holding the "A" and "B" buttons at the same time. A barrier block cannot be broken like a normal guard, but there is a limit on how long one can be held, which is indicated by the barrier gauge. If the barrier gauge empties, then the player will receive 150% damage until it regenerates to half-full.

Oh, that suffices. It really is too bad I have no means to play that game at the moment. That "PS3" looks more attractive every day.
