Well, in a way that's right. If a company is going to treat you like a criminal, don't do business with them. Everyone should follow this advice and put DRM peddlers out of business.ZeroAX wrote: In that video you linked, he dares say that if we don't like DRM we should find something else to do.

But he did explain why games are priced higher in europe. So, I linked to someone who perfectly explained it, but you hate. Ubisoft drm is different, you can install it abunch. http://www.gamepolitics.com/2010/01/28/ ... phone-home. Keep in mind, Read EULAs, you don't have those rights.

you know that EULA can not be absolute. If a democracy defines ownership as having the right to resell, even if I accept an EULA a corporation can not revoke my rights. At least in a democracyyomomma1 wrote:But he did explain why games are priced higher in europe. So, I linked to someone who perfectly explained it, but you hate. and Hatta, yeah I agree, but the way he said it was like "it's their right and you should just shut up"

You can Re sell you games. Drm is legal. Not really much you can do. The company has a legitimate reason to do it, even if it causes problems for consumers. You can resell everything, though it might not work.

well you can do, but I don't see anyone paying a lawyer so they can resell a game. Our only hope is that a government does something about it. I don't care that DRM would exist in a way too. But what I would like is a way to disable my activation from my PC/console, and give the game to someone else, and when he uses the activation code again, the game now belongs to him.yomomma1 wrote:You can Re sell you games. But DRM does not exist to only combat piracy. It exists to combat second hand sales.
Cause repeat after me "gaming executives are greedy!!!"
I specially like how they say that the used game market is killing off gaming.
Music has a used market. Seams to be doing fine to me.
Movies and books also. So why is it that it's the gaming market that gets hurt?
Could it be that new games are too freaking expensive, and consumers are forced into buying used games because of that? Drop your prices, it will probably increase your sales so much that you will be making more money in the end.
Though things are probably different in the US. I keep reading online that used games are sold at gamestop at only 5$ less than the new copy of the game, and that gamestop has the stupid policy of opening the game cases in order to "keep them safe" from thiefs. Someone should show them those plastic safe boxes the rest of the world uses.

Gamestop keeps games behind the counter. And takes used game's discs out of the case. What I was saying is that You can sell your copy of Assassin's creed 2 for pc, nothing physically stops you from doing that. Plus, you can't resell everything. I can't sell my cadmium tainted shrek glasses.

isn't it bound to an account like steam? cause if I sell that it doesn't work if I don't give them my steam account as well.yomomma1 wrote:Gamestop keeps games behind the counter. I'm pretty sure, I can't find the specifications of the drm policy. I am saying though, that nothing physically stops you from selling the non working game disc.

but that's not really selling the game. That's like if I give my tv to someone else it stops working.yomomma1 wrote:I'm pretty sure, I can't find the specifications of the drm policy. I am saying though, that nothing physically stops you from selling the non working game disc.

Re: Namco Bandai Sales VP: Wii and DS market has collapsed
I really don't understand all this market collapsed stuff. I don't know anyone with an R4 in their DS and I have seen tons of great games come out on both platforms.
Its Namco's own fault for not selling well. They release more games on both platforms in Japan but we just get a some and not all of them top teir. Why can't we get all the Tales games?
These are the games they releasesed in the US that I could find. Now how many do you guys find to be great titles? I found 8 titles I like or am interested in but several had poor reviews.
Nintendo DS:
Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans
Gunpey DS (like)
InuYasha: Secret of the Divine Jewel
Namco Museum DS
Point Blank DS
QuickSpot
Tamagotchi Connexion: Corner Shop
Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day
Retro Game Challenge (like)
Mr. DRILLER: Drill Spirits (interested in)
Pac 'n Roll
Pac-Pix
Dig Dug: Digging Strike
Namco Museum DS
Pac-Man World 3
Ridge Racer DS
Trioncube
Wii:
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (one of the few that likes)
We Ski
Soulcalibur Legends
Klonoa (like)
Mario Super Sluggers (they got to be crazy thinking this game didn't sell well)
Active Life: Athletic World
Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon (interested in)
Namco Museum Remix (interested in)
The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces (interested in)
