my very first reproduction cart :)

Post by Wobble The Hutt »

hey all im new here and with the help of jeff and a few others i built my first reproduction cart! i burned my first chips as well for the project :) the wires are a little long but over all i think it turned out very well! however i am looking for the best way to get a quality label for the case. if anyone has any advice that would be great!

the picture is rather large so i didn't embed it in the post and used a link instead :)

Looks nice! (At least from what I can tell  ) I have been watching some of the reproduction threads because they pique my interest as well. Do you have any idea how long this took you? Also, do you have any links to threads/a guide or something that you followed on your first reproduction?

Cool. As for a label I'd see if Kinkos or a store like Kinkos will print one out for you on a sticker sheet, or you can probably print your own on a sticker sheet (label sheet?) you can purchase at most stores that sell stationary stuff. I'm thinking of building a reproduction SNES game... well a patched Super Famicom game to be more precise! I might just pay for someone else to do it though... as I'm not sure how to make one.

Will all that actually fit into the cartridge case?

Also: Does it work?

You're focusing on the wrong details.

the sacrificial game is... NHL 96! so fret nothing of value was lost ;-)

and yes it fits in a cart :) and it fired up first try w00t! the reason i deviated from the design and put rom 4 on the board was so i could lay the chips sideways for a better fit.

the guides i used.

time it took probably about 4 or 5 hours taking it slow learning the diagram as i went. next time i have a few ideas for speeding it up greatly (like wiring up the cabling to rom4 before putting it in the socket DOH). ill be building a second one for the ebay (im unemployed right now due to health issues) to fund the next couple carts starfox 2 and sailormoon RPG. ill be posting each one i make however and be happy to share any info i learn in the process.

also after i get more proficient ill be happy to take commissions here. but seeing as ziggy and a few others already do them my plan is to ask them for overflow and jobs they don't want to do. as to not cut in on their turf as that would be rude and kinda shitty. :)

PS anyone got a pinout for f-zero 2? :)
