Ever sold a game/console and later regretted it?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

When I was a wee lad I use to trade shit all the time, most of my new games came from trading old ones with friends. Heaps of titles I wish I still had to today (Including one of my favs, team buddies) but if I didnt trade I wouldnt have played as many games growing up.

Bought a Vectrex the week they came out, sold it for little at the end of the '90's with the games I had. If the Vectrex hadn't been so large I may not have.

After water fried my Intellivision in the end of the '80's I threw away my games. Yeah, silly. Had to buy the titles back on ebay recently.

I think I finally got back all the SNES and N64 games that I Funco Landed away. That's not even the half of it though, I was real bad when I was younger. I eventually told myself that I'm done trading/selling video games but especially entire systems.

At one point, I sold my NES and all the games I had for it (but it wasn't too many games). Eventually I bought another NES and all the games I had plus more. I think I even had a second NES for a while.

I got a Dreamcast used, I think just after it died. I accumulated a small amount of games for it. But long story short, I sold the system and all the games for it. Again, I eventually bought another DC and all the games I had for it plus more. The only thing I didn't buy back was a light gun.

Genesis is probably my worst story. I bought my first Genesis, a brand new model 3 for $20. Like an idiot, I sold it along with all my games. Then some where down the road I started to miss it so I got myself a model 1 with games. Now I'm not really sure why I sold that one, but I did. Eventually, I had two model 2's and now I just have the one (that of course I wont be selling!).

I sold my first Gamecube and all the games I had for it. Eventually, I bought it back with some games. When the Wii came out, I sold the system to help fund my purchase (but not the games this time). Eventually, once the Cubes were cheap, I ended up with 3 of them. But now I just have the one again. Though one I gave to my brother that recently got a Wii, so I'm gonna take it back and sell it. So if ya's see it for sale in the forums, don't think I'm going back to my old ways!

But yeah, long story short, I learned it the hard way. I'm done selling/trading consoles for SURE. Games, I'll only trade or sell if I'm dead certain it wont be missed.

Over the next couple weeks I'm gonna bite the bullet and plan on selling a large portion of my games and systems to fund my new Dodge Challenger power plant upgrade. I know in the future I may regret it, but I'm gonna just sell the stuff thats been just collecting dust. My CIB TG-16 and NES with ROB, 360 Elite with games, huge Castlevania collection, Sega Genesis, CD, and 32X with tons of games, N64 with games and many other things will be up for sale.

Keep a eye out they will be priced to sell fast. These things as much as I love them, I just don't have the time I used to and they just sit unused on my shelf. I would rather sell the stuff here and know it will be cared for. I know I'll regret it in the future.

I remember all the time when I was younger I used to sell all of the games I didn't like or didn't play. Because of that, I sold aroud 17 NES games, some of them being Metroid, Zelda 2, and a few other not-so-gems. The only ones I kept were Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, Burgertime, Blades of Steel, and Donkey Kong Classics.

I also had sold my PSP 1000 about 2 years ago and I'm starting to regret it, as the homebrew scene appears to be huge, not as much as the Wii, but close. The only game I had was the pack-in, MVP Baseball. So now I'm trying to get another PSP off of one of those "do free offer" sites so I get it for free. Stupid and cheap, yes, but it works.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

A semi regret. Atari 2600 and 20-30 carts, so long ago. Glad it wasn't an original real woody. Now have repurchased the carts I cherished the most and run them on the 5200-2600 adaptor and on the 7800.

Back about 5+ years ago, I almost sold my SNES and all my games at a yard sale, so I could buy Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, but I pulled everything back fairly quickly, with only 1 game sold; Yoshi's Safari, a game I couldn't figure out how to play at the time, mainly because I didn't have a super scope. :P But, I'm very glad I didn't sell it.

I got rid of my SNES X-Band modem a few years ago during a move. I saw one for sale at $60 recently. I didn't know they were worth anything since the service went down. I also got some e-mail from somebody who tracks down people that used to play on X-Band. I think they have found a way to still use them.

Damn that sucks, J T. I remember wanting to buy one back in the day, but never did.
