Really violent people fighting eachother to the death, tied loosely together by a pointless story? Seems this movie manages to do that.

That was campy, very gritty, dark, and violent. I was in disbelief this was an actual teaser for an actual mortal kombat movie....That 8 minutes was the best videogame adaptation hollywood has ever done PERIOD. It was like they finally got it......I'm pumped.

It seems like on every site people either think this is terrible or just fucking awesome.......yes it's not looking like a traditional mortal kombat movie...or game as of late( which is avery very good thing), But a more real atmosphere with some really cool shit. As a filmmaker myself this is how i would handle a mortal kombat movie. terrible writing with a super dark setting and characters that just want to kill eachother. also i hope it keeps up the film noir feeling through out the detective settings.

Here's the problem I have. The original Mortal Kombat movie was essentially just the original game, with a few elements taken from MK2. The fighting was fun, you had all your favorite characters in their costumes, and it was overall pretty close to the source. With this one they're trying to make it "realisitic", so instead of Baraka being a guy from Outland where his entire race looks like him he's actually a crazy plastic surgeon.

The only good thing I took from this trailer was that Scorpion is the protagonist. We all know Scorpion is the best character in the series.
