What "Great" game did you end up hating?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

The monster hunter games. They are just so bland.

Nah. We're pragmatic folks

I would have liked a shorter, less chore-filled Okami myself.

Don't know if I'd say I hate it, but I've been having a hard time trying to muster the will to play all the way through Uncharted 2. It has very generic gameplay and all the big cinematic moments and great graphics can't hide that fact. Very overrated. I heard a lot of bullshit about how this game pushes the gaming medium forward. What a load of crap. Uncharted 2 is just Naughty Dog doing what they do best, stealing gameplay ideas from everything else out there and adding nothing new or innovative to the gaming industry

Comon, Naughty Dog gave us Crash Bandicoot, who went on to become Sony's mascot for the Playstation and is still going strong today!

Oh wait...

I think Crash Bandicoot is really the ONLY great thing Naughty Dog has done to this day. It seemed original for its time and was fun and funny. Even the commercials were kind of funny. Since then, they've been pretty unimpressive. Jak and Daxter was a well put together little platformer, but then Jak 2 came out with a Jak I didn't even recognize(Prince of Persia:Warrior Within anyone?)and the game was pretty much a Grand Theft Auto clone. Now I play Uncharted 2 and I'm getting Prince of Persia+every third person shooter ever made=generic, uninspired game with big explosions and eye popping graphics. The story and dialogue are alright. There's actually some genuinely funny bits, but the gameplay has no redeeming quality whatsoever and Nathan gets a little annoying with his, "oh my god, I can't believe this is happening to me schtick" It's only funny the first few times

Bleh, why is it always the generic games that get so much damn attention? There is absolutely nothing special about Uncharted 2 at all and people are saying it pushes video games forward. How, exactly? Am I missing something?

Oh well, guess I'll wait on Team Ico's next project, which will probably be the game that REALLY pushes video games forward
