Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

You guys are singing my song. I live in San Marcos which is practically a college town. Lots of people play games...but they're so young, rude, and have no taste.

Playing online has definitely killed that feeling you used to get when you'd get friends over and sit on the floor around the NES, calling dibs on the next life.

Hence my excitement about this meet.

Ok, here's a list of possibilities that I have. I went ahead and included Run n Gun games as well as shmups. Ones with (?) I'd have to double check if they're 2 player at the same time. Though honestly, a PS2 with the Capcom and Taito collections would probably keep us busy. I could bring the discs to show Game Over that I own them if we ended up there, but then just play them from the hard drive.

Anyway, here's a ridiculous list to narrow down or possibly pick out a few "ooh I want to try that" to go with the Capcom/Taito if we just went with that.

Shmups/Run n gun

PS2
Capcom classics 1 & 2

Gauntlet Dark Legacy (4)
Gradius 3 and 4
Gunstar Heroes Treasure box

In all honesty, any couple of those arcade compilations would be enough to satisfy most anyone that showed up.

Yeah. I'm thinking we bring up a PS2 for the compilations and a Genesis and Saturn for the rarer stuff. Set up 3 TVs and start rotating. Lets start trying to whittle the list down. No way in hell we could play all that. LOL

Well, we could, but Game Over would probably kick us out before we were ready to leave.

I can add:

Genesis
Streets of Rage 2
Rolling Thunder 2

PS2
Ghost in the Shell: SAC (4 player multitap can e insanely fun)

Most of everything else I have worth mentioning, Hobie already listed.

If someone has a decent sized Laptop, we should definitely do Streets of Rage Remix. All we need is a USB controller converter and a few control pads or, better yet, some arcade sticks. :D

Another thing to consider: Video cameras and possibly a computer with a capture device so we can document this and throw it on youtube.

I have 1 PC USB pad, a PS2 to USB Adapter, and a SNES to USB adapter. I can combine those last 2 with a Hori PS stick and the Capcom SF stick.

Good deal. I wouldn't mind bringing up the HRAP2SA, too.

I forgot to list Midway Arcade Classics on PS2. Gauntlet and Smash TV being the appropriate games on there.

Not sure if fighters are everyones bag but I have a pretty decent selection from the SNK and Capcom libraries for the PS2.
