DSs/PSPs aren't much more reliable. PSP's fragility is well known, while my DS has about a 50/50 chance of reading a game.BlackDS wrote: Ok then, Ill go back to my original "new consoles suck, get a ds/psp" opinion

A. Well if you break a psp by droping it, that isn't totally Sony's fault.the7k wrote:DSs/PSPs aren't much more reliable. I keep mine in a case. When I want to play, I can open up the case and use the PSP without even having to remove it from the case. I never worry about my PSP getting damaged. I have a screen protector on it too, so no worries about scratching the screen either. The PSP is not a cheap toy, it should be protected or handled with care. If it breaks, it's the owner's fault...unlike a 360BlackDS wrote:A. Well if you break a psp by droping it, that isn't totally Sony's fault.the7k wrote:DSs/PSPs aren't much more reliable. Maybe, but in the old days if a steamroller ran over a GameBoy, the steamroller was the only thing that broke.BlackDS wrote: A. Well if you break a psp by droping it, that isn't totally Sony's fault.

It seems like everything you own breaks. Maybe it's you that's the problem, not the toys.the7k wrote:DSs/PSPs aren't much more reliable. Actually, my PS2 and Dreamcast are both launch systems, and I've never had a problem with either one - and both have received extensive play from me. Same with the PS3 - that system gets daily workouts, and it hasn't given me any trouble.MrPopo wrote: It seems like everything you own breaks. Maybe it's you that's the problem, not the toys.
Only systems I can remember having major problems with are my Wii (Smash Bros Melee got stuck in it - Nintendo told me to never leave a Gamecube game in the Wii for long periods again.), DS (It sometimes requires a couple of "Cut On - Nothing Shows Up - Cut Off - Re-Insert Game -Repeat" sessions - it is a launch unit, though), Original Xbox (I assume it was a video card problem - I was playing Panzer Dragoon O, and suddenly the colors started weirding out. Aside from that, it worked for that session - but then it wouldn't work after that.) and Sega Saturn (Laser stopped working. I bought it from just some random dude with a low feedback score on eBay - I think that had more to do with it than anything.)
My record with game consoles is nothing compared to my record with vehicles, that's for sure. Although, I am convinced that I have a curse about me with the 360. Whenever a friend's unit breaks, it often breaks while I'm around - sometimes it doesn't even take 15 minutes.

Have you thought of the variants of the PS3?tommyboy8689 wrote:hey everybody, thanks for the input... i think at this point im leaning more towards a ps3, prolly just get a used one from the exchange, and if i decide i dont like it i can return it for the 360,
i wasnt really worried to much about online gaming before, but now i kinda wanna try some call of duty online, but i cant really budget for a monthly subscription to pay for it, so the free online play is gonna win over paying for it.
