faulty racket boy modchip

I believe I have a faulty modchip.

it just all of a sudden stopped working and I cant work out what is wrong.

The symptoms: no sound plays, and the normal intro screen doesnt come up. and then it says: checking disk format. the cd rom drive does not run.

I tried the machine without the chip... works fine. I changed from the A+B method to using the signal wire... no change. I tried resoldering the connections of all components... thinking maybe one is loose... still no change. I even soldered the signal wire down to the chip pin by following the trace... still no change.

I checked if it has power... yes it does.

what can I do?

dont worry guys. i fixed it

I put the power wire directly to the chip and trimed both the end of the mod chip and cable end to ensure propper seating... works good now ^^
