I have the Magic Key (older plastic version) installed in my PS2 70012. I am wanting to play PS1 games and it works if they are in the system upon boot. But for some reason I can't go to the system and select enhancements and then use the file browser screen.
Is this because of the Magic Key?
Is there any other way to access the browser screen in game, soft reboot or something?
Edit- I found that if you boot with no game, change the settings and then reset the system with the game in it all enhancements are active.
It seems like a lot of work and for Castlevania SOTN it didn't make much of a difference. So I wonder if it's worth it for other games?

The PDF

Looks like the PS2 thinks that disc is always in the drive due to the Magic Key sensor covers.

For any 2D game you aren't going to see much of a difference. I find that 3D games with fairly simple textures (Mega Man Legends and Rival Schools come to mind) tend to look the best when you turn on the "Texture smoothing" feature.SpaceBooger wrote: It seems like a lot of work and for Castlevania SOTN it didn't make much of a difference. I've never messed with the disc speed option, because it causes many games to crash.

Yeah, thats what I thought. But I couldnt find if there was a shortcut in the ps2's software to refresh without relying on the door sensors. I guess a soft reboot is the only way.CRTGAMER wrote:The PDF

And AppleQueso, thanks for the advise.
