I couldn't get into Mass Effect, the combat was pretty bland, and there was too much story stuff.

Resident Evil 4 (PS2)
Horseshit controls. I prefer the use of two analog sticks for movement like Max Payne, Gears of War and Dead Space.

No More Heroes
&
Force Unleased (Wii)
I hate the controls. They take all of the fun away for me.

What was wrong with them? The motion control was hardly utilised. Maybe you'd have more fun with the 360/PS3 port?SpaceBooger wrote:No More Heroes...

Are you serious? RE 4 played like a dream. Two analogue stick movement befits a fast paced shooter where strafing is required. That's not how RE 4 was designedWeekend_Warrior wrote:Resident Evil 4 (PS2)

The Wii version of RE4 has the best controls by far, I have played all three versions of RE4 (though only finished the game on the Wii) and by far the Wii has best of all the version (GFX of GC, content of PS2).Gamerforlife wrote:Are you serious? Man imagine how much he'd hate the older RE gamesGamerforlife wrote:Are you serious? RE 4 played like a dream. Two analogue stick movement befits a fast paced shooter where strafing is required. That's not how RE 4 was designedWeekend_Warrior wrote:Resident Evil 4 (PS2)

I think an important point needs to be made when people complain about "tank" controls. If you think about, none of the RE games were REAL zombie games. What I mean is, zombie hordes. You'd want fast characters or more offensive options if you had to deal with actual zombie hordes, but RE usually just threw 2 or 3 zombies at a time at you(before RE 4 anyway). Now imagine an easy to control, fast character in any of the old RE games. You'd just dance around zombies like they were nothing. All of those games would have been a jokeAppleQueso wrote:Man imagine how much he'd hate the older RE gamesGamerforlife wrote:Are you serious? RE 4 played like a dream. Now Dead Rising was a REAL zombie game, which meant having to somehow make your past enough zombies to completely fill up a screen. Notice Frank is easier to control, has lots of offensive options and gradually gets faster as you level him. Hell, you even have skateboards and cars for when you need to get somewhere fast and want to mow down the crowd of zombies in your way. Now imagine old school RE characters with the old limited control scheme being used in Dead Rising. They wouldn't have a chance in hell, but they are just capable enough to survive in the old RE games. You drop Frank into RE 1, 2 or 3 though, he'd be easily kicking zombie ass
Different games, different designs and thus different controls

I don't mind motion controls for some games, but flailing my arms around is annoying. Most games that have motion controls I usually avoid using them and stick to standard button pressing (Marvel Ultimate Alliance & the Lego games.)Incognito D wrote:What was wrong with them? I like motion controls when they are unique (WiiSports, Punch Out, the Mario Games, FPS) but using them over buttons for action games annoy me.
That is why I don't like No More Heroes. I probably would like the other ports better.
