I read all the posts but i might restate something, if i do i apologize i advance.
In my opinion it depends on if you like online or single player more, and if you want to pay for online.
If you play online more than you do offline, i'd go for the 360. Sure you have to pay for it, but it's much better than the ps3 online.
But if you don't care about online, ps3 is better. Plus, its got all the ps1 games you can download.
so im finally breaking down... but i cant decide...

@ the original poster,
What is your current budget? Are you planing to buy a console with a few games?
Are you looking for the latest hot titles, or are you okay with playing good games that have been released in the last 2 years? Are you also a movie fan that wants the best picture and sound (this would leans towards the PS3 alone!) of many classical films and latest action films?
Would like to hear from you.

Yeah, but it's applicable, plus he's got ~200 posts. Usually the bots don't last that long here. Unless this is some kind of Super Bot that Ack created to throw us off our game.Jrecee wrote:This post seriously looks like an ad/spam.skyknight wrote:@ the original poster,

Why would classic films matter?
They aren't in HD.

Some go through digital restoration to "fix" colors that may have faded during storage, as film tapes are susceptible to environmental changes. How the West was Won on Blu-Ray is considered an achievement, since it is presented in its original ratio. Critics are also hoping that the original Metropolis (1927) could be release on Blu-ray, since there are many releases of the movie, each having different scenes edited out.yomomma1 wrote:Why would classic films matter?

If you aren't that interested in online gaming PS3 has much better exclusives like the Ratchet and Clank games, Demons Souls, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc.
360 is great, and I play it more often then PS3 just because I know more people with a 360, but PS3 is much better overall. I still have to finish MGS4, it's amazing.

I have seen a bunch of blu-ray re-releases.
They are also on dvd, though.

Of course it's going to be mostly personal opinion. There is no way to objectively say one is superior to the other, so it HAS to be personal opinion that makes the decision.t0yrobo wrote: Seriously. No offense guys, but half the other posts have been a combination of personal opinion and bs. New 360's are pretty darn reliable, and both systems have a solid selection of exclusives. So pick what you like best, they each have pretty distinctive games. I guess the biggest non-subjective factor is multimedia support. PS3 has bluray and supports more formats than 360.
As for 360s being 'pretty darn reliable' - I had a friend of mine that got a brand-new X360 Elite on Christmas. It was on the shipping truck by mid-January. Could it have been a random dud? Sure. However, it still didn't help my opinion.
It's like when everybody says "Oh, MadCatz has changed! They're so much better now!", I order a SSF4 controller, and it stops working within 2 weeks. Sorry, but fool me once...
The HDD replacement procedure is almost identical on both models. PS1 backwards compatibility which seemed identical on both models.DownSince86 wrote: Quick question (not to hi-jack the thread): If I were going to buy a PS3 today would you recommend a new slim or a used "fat" one? Can I replace the HDD in the slim as easily as you could in the older models? How is the backwards compatibility on the slim?

Also the PS3 has more exclusives that aren't shooters. Little Big Planet, inFAMOUS and Valkyria Chronicles are just some of my favorite games you MUST buy if you get a PS3.
Also if you want to play online on the 360 don't forget the extra fees for a WiFi add on and the monthly fee for Gold membership.
All of that stuff is free on the PS3.
