Goldeneye Remake coming out on Wii?

It seems that a remake for Goldeneye (N64) may be out later this year, but not from the original developers. No word on if this rumor is true or not.

Activision's the publisher apparently.

...I'm just going to wait and see how this turns out...

Instant buy, just for the controllers. That gold controller is almost as sexy as the black one.

Though since Activision is publishing it, I'm looking to see about three to five more games released for it in the same year if it's successful.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

Hmmmm I'm a bit leery because the original developers are seemingly not involved. Though those controllers are pretty slick.

"The real question is if people want to play the original so bad, why don't they just get an N64 and a copy of Golden Eye then? It's not that expensive. It would cost as much as a new Wii game no doubt, maybe even less!"

It's made by Activision. Ugh. Do you guys actually like the other Wii games they made? Maybe it's just me, but when I see a modern game by Activision I try to avoid it.

That gold controller looks fake as hell. The giveaway is the digital pad and analog sticks. No way they would be gold.

Plus, a "remake" would usually indicate it's based upon the original game. That's impossible. Rare and Nintendo own the original code and likeness. Activision just has the Bond license. Totally new and unrelated game, if real.

Holy Crap there's a lot of retro stuff coming out lately. Am I the only one noticing this?

The retro trend makes sense to me. Though I can't deny I own plenty of "modern" games, I also avoid a ton of the most popular series because of over saturation. I doubt I'm the only one. Going back to our roots is easy (there are lots of examples) and yet is different from most games today.

Though I'd hardly say remaking a FPS game is much different than any other game being released today.

I don't get it. It's based off of the goldeneye licence but has Daniel Craig as bond, with no levels or enemies from goldeneye? I'm confused...
