I realise the topic starter didn't want more recent games, but I guess this beats starting a new topic. Harvester for the PC looks quite weird indeed, and I haven't heard of it back in the day for some odd reason. I discovered it while watching an episode of Gamesmaster, so I wonder how many more are still there to re-discover.

Fallout 3 did have a very weird Matrix-like sequence (no need to spoil it here) that I found to be the high-point of the game.

No mention of Killer 7? THAT is probably the strangest game ever made. EVERYTHING about it is unusual, from the visuals, to the story, to the gameplay and controls, the music, it's just a trip all the way through.

STRETCH PANIC. PS2. seriously the weirdest, most hard to play game ever. i got it because it was like 5 bucks, and it was treasure. it's super, super, super weird.

Arcade:

Pac-Man - What is going on here? This game does not seem to be analogous to anything else.

TI 99/4A:

Tombstone City - You are some sort of mobile gun vehicle thing. You go around shooting monster things that turn into cacti when you shoot them. There is a city in the middle of the screen that you can enter but the monsters can't.


Atari 2600:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - You play as Leatherface and you try to kill as many people as possible before you run out of gas.

The porn games like "cathouse" are all pretty weird.


NES:

Blaster Master - The whole story in the U.S. version just doesn't make any sense.

Super Mario Bros. - We take this one for granted now, but this game is seriously weird

Twinbee - I think this one is the original cute-em-up, though I could be wrong.


SMS:

Fantasy Zone - This one is pretty weird, but I haven't played a whole lot of the SMS library.

Has anyone played Killer 7? Its one of my favorite titles but i had to play it through twice and read shit loads about it to understand the story fully.

Everything from the Aesthetics, themes, characters etc was just Bizarre beyond belief.

No More Heroes is another great WTF example also made by the creator of Killer 7.

One of my favorite games also.

Killer 7. heh. Yeah, when your beginning game tutorial guide is some creepy asian man in a BDSM gimp outfit who talks like an garbled underwater robot, you know you are in for a hell of a ride.
