There are other upscalers posted at that link. If money is no object why not the XRGB? There are reliable importers.bloodybjorn wrote:i' ve read the link like a 1000 times but i dont want the XRGB3 and can't make up my mind.CRTGAMER wrote:Read my signature link.bloodybjorn wrote:ok isnt there an other way that's pal or even amerikan not hong kong

I find it very hard to believe you aren't getting a good picture with HDMI. Have you checked the actual picture settings on your TV? HDMI is going to be the best quality you can get, so if you don't think it's sharp enough either there's some really strange filter on your TV or you have an unrealistic standard.

Agree HDMI is all digital, going thru a scaler would just deteriorate the pic.MrPopo wrote:I find it very hard to believe you aren't getting a good picture with HDMI. For the Retro Consoles the scaler may help considering you are stretching to a Widescreen 1080P LCD.
Did you see the earlier scaler review link? http://retrogaming.hazard-city.de/
Maybe ensure all the newer consoles are set to widescreen?
Go back to basics, check the HD screen settings sharpness, contrast, brightness etc.

I agree!!MrPopo wrote:I'd hook things up as follows:
PS3/360 - HDMI
Dreamcast/Xbox - PC VGA connector (get a switch box if you only have a single input)
PS2/Wii - Component
You shouldn't need a scaler if you run those connection types.
Odyssey,Vectrex,Atari 2600,5200,7800,Intellivision,Colecovision,NES,Master System,SNES,Genesis,32X,CD,CDX,Virtual Boy,TG-16,Neo-Geo AES,Jaguar+CD,PSX,PSOne,Saturn,3DO,N64,DC,PS2,Xbox,GCN,Wii,Xbox 360,PS3,GB,GB Pocket,GBC,Lynx,Game Gear,Nomad,NGPC,GBA,GBA SP,GB Micro,DS,PSP,PSP Slim,WS,WS Color,3DS,Vita,PC,iPhone,WiiU

Re: what's the best scaler for my consoles
The guy with all the upscalers is testing their effects on games that are 640x480 and 320x240 resolution. Therefore an upscaler makes sence for displaying on an HD TV with it's higher resolution if you're looking for the best picture. He's also looking at de-interlacing the video signal that some of the older consoles from the CRT era output which can look bad on a flat panel HD TV.
All of the consoles you mentioned are capable of outputting HD resolution signals and thus don't need an upscaler.

Re: what's the best scaler for my consoles
yeah but he mentioned his setup on the site and why does he uses the vp50 for his xbox1,xbox360 and ps3?
he had too much money or what?
he mentioned his setup at the bottom so it must do something with the console?
not one person did mention a setup i can use ,maybe i just buy the vp50 then?

Re: what's the best scaler for my consoles
The reason no one is mentioning a setup is because we don't feel you should need a setup. What I'd recommend is you take some pictures of your screen so we can see all the "problems" you're seeing.
